paraprofessionals, students will wait until school transportation arrives. Students will then be

picked up and brought home from this location.

Training For Teachers

Prior to the start of the school year, teachers will complete professional development on

all school procedures and safety protocols. Teachers will also be given their classroom lockdown

kit, fire drill backpack, and manuals. All teachers will be required to pass a protocol and safety

quiz. Teachers will also have access to our lockdown Google Drive form. As staff, we will also

discuss any procedures that need to be revisited or adjusted.

Revisiting/Debriefing

To debrief and review the drills that happened, the leadership team will meet. The team

will discuss all the various aspects of the drill. The needs that need to be done the same and what

needs to be done differently will be decided. Upon completion of the review, the leadership team

will collect the data, and the faculty and staff will be sent a report. At their weekly team meeting,

the teachers will be asked to go through the results, along with any modifications that need to be

made.

Rational

The development of our safety calendar was aligned with our school's mission and vision.

Along with other members of the leadership team, the safety calendar was developed to uphold

all state requirements regarding policies and procedures. The drills were distributed in a way that

was indicative of various situations, times, and periods in the year. However, the calendar will

not be shared with faculty to obtain realistic data and evaluation. We had to consider many

logistical, legal, and moral problems in the implementation of the evacuation plan. In the off-

campus student campaign, the legal issues were raised, while the logistical difficulties came into

play with how the students will be transferred. Finally, the moral dilemma is raised because we

are waiting to inform parents that an evacuation has been carried out and where to.
