Category – Critical Thinking – Marks 0-2, Marking Scheme

Marks If…
2 The student clearly understands the problem statement and can provide reasoning
with complete conceptual clarity. Minor mistakes and careless errors can appear in
so far as they do not indicate a conceptual misunderstanding
1 The student has partially understood the problem. The student is not completely
lost, but requires tutoring in some of the basic concepts.
0 The student wrote nothing or almost nothing.

Category – Background Research – Marks 0-2, Marking Scheme

Marks If…
2 The student has provided structured answer with the rich context for interpreting the
question; Demonstrated creativity in finding appropriate and relevant sources
1 Adequate background research with some good insights into the current problem in
the question asked. However, sources beyond the assigned readings are somewhat
limited and dated.
0 No evidence of background research beyond answering the question

Category – Empirical Evidence – Marks 0-1, Marking Scheme

Marks If…
1 The student has built up quite relevant arguments to support their statements. All
aspects of their opinion (procedure, measures, and analysis) are fully described.
0 Summarizing the research without presenting any argument addressing the research
question
