WHAT IS THE DISeASE/Disorder ?
● Disease that affect the heart muscle
● Makes it harder for the heart to pump blood to the rest of the body
● The heart becomes weaker and incapable of maintaining a normal rhythm.
● Leading to heart failure or irregular heartbeats called arrhythmias.
● The main types of cardiomyopathy include dilated, hypertrophic and restrictive
cardiomyopathy.
● Early on there may be few or no symptoms.
● Signs and symptoms usually appear, as the disease worsens.
○ Swelling of the legs, ankles and feet
○ Shortness of breath, particularly during exertion or exercise
○ Heartbeats that feel rapid, pounding or fluttering
○ Chest pain, discomfort or pressure
○ Dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue and fainting Cardiomyopathy
