- Scope of work :

The purpose of this method of statement is to explain the proper procedure

on how to prepare and cast the PC foundation according to the approved
drawings and contract documents

- Material & Equipment :

-Materails :

-Approval shall be obtained for all the materials with reference of

approved vendor list, prior to the start of activities.

All materials must be stored properly as per manufacturer’s

recommendations
IECS shall submit Material Inspection Request (MIR) to TBER for the
used materials

Required materials for PC foundation Execution:

- Plain concrete of strength kg/m shall be used for PC foundation from

approved concrete plant by TEBR

- For PC insulation polyethylene sheet shall be applied of approved

sample (Arayesa plastic or equivalent)

- Curing mixture (Master Kure from BASF) for poured concrete

curing by water based emulsion instead of water

- Prior to activities:

IECS shall submit all workshop drawings, Material Approval Requests

(MAR) and Material Inspection Request (MIR) to TEBR for approval prior
to execution.

Submittals and approvals:

A- shop drawings submittal of pc footing to be approved by TEBR

B- MAR shall be submitted to TEBR to approve polyethylene sheet

sample of micron from approved vendor

C- MAR shall be submitted to TEBR to approve the curing mixture”

Master Kure” data sheet from BASF Egypt.

D- MIR shall be submitted to TEBR to approve the quantity of

polyethylene sheets received at site.

E- Request for pouring concrete of to be submitted to concrete plant stated

(date, time &quantity) submitted to TEBR for information.

- Roles and resposibilties:

A-Surveyors :
Responsible for :
- Checking the limits of excavation
- Checking the levels and to locate the secondary surveying points of the
footing & building axes.

B- Technical office engineer:

Responsible for:
- Ensuring the various submittals for approval for (materials,
workshop drawings, method of statement, subconcators &suppliers)

- Quotations as required (materials and subcontractors|)

- Ensuring RFI’s on behalf of IECS.

- The distribution of documents within IECS site personnel.

C- Site engineer:
Responsible for:
- Ensuring that project is managed in a safe manner and meets the
requirements of the documentation.
- Ensuring that subcontractors and suppliers achieve on-site required
standards.
-Ensuring the performance measurable is delivered.
- shall refer to QC engineer and HSE officer for advice and guidance if
required.
- shall ensure that operatives comply with the relevant method of statement
, toolbox talks and general site briefing .

D- QC engineer:

Responsible for:
- Carrying out phased inspection as required
- ensuring that completed work are offered for inspection/approval to
TEBR within specific dates.
- ensuring that all required tests are performed and are in compliance with
appropriate specification.
- ensuring that materials are inspected when delivered to insure they
comply with various specification.
- prepare reports for submission to IECS project manager and where
required.
- controlling all non-conforming products or workmanship and
implementing the required prevention action.
- ensuring the corrective action and prevention actions are taken when
required.

E- HSE site representive:

Responsible for :
- monitoring the implementation of health ,safety and environmental
requirement.
- undertaking audits and ensuring that corrective actions are taken
where required.
- liaison with the senior site staff on health , safety and
environmental related matters.

- Procedure of execution:

-Setting out the secondary surveying points and footing corners and axes
using total station from the base points ( , )

-Apply polyethylene sheets to be cut lager than the footing dimension by

not less than cm.

- IR to be submitted to TEBR to approve excusted polyethylene sheets

- Execution of pc form work according to the approved submitted shop

drawings

-IR to be submitted to TEBR to approve pc form work

-Pouring concrete for pc footing using pump in attendance of IECS’s site

engineer and TEBR’s engineer

-Concrete pouring’s report from patching plant shall be submitted before

pouring and to be presented to TEBR for information.

- Compact the concrete probably using mechanical vibrators.

- Curing concrete must be take place after casting for one day (day and
night) using the approved mixture (master kure) which mixing by water to
make curing emulsion under supervision of QC engineer.

- IECS shall prepare concrete cubes to be submitted to the site lab. and
all Curing and testing procedures for cubes and reports to be handled by
the lab’s personnel under supervision of TEBR.

- Remove shuttering next day after casting.

- Quality Control :

The quality control for the above mentioned activities shall be

exercised recorded in accordance with contract documents as follows:

Acceptance tolerances and references:

For pc footing:

- Variation in cross section of pc footing = + mm or - mm

for dimension equal or less than mm
Or = + mm or - mm for dimension more than mm

- Variation in plan from specified location of the building = + mm

in any location.

- Devotion in plan for any horizontal dimension (axes of

columns,beams,walls) = + mm in (any bay or m in any direction) .

- Safety Precautions & Housekeeping :

- Walkers must be provided by safe access to work.

- provide traffic routes taking apart walkers and vehicles.

- provide a suitable safe place for concrete pump during pouring concrete.

- All safety rules for all site personnel shall be applicable in accordance of
the approved HSE plan (i.e. wearing helmets and vests… etc.)

- providing lighting sources during working at night.

- All the safety regulations, applicable laws of IECS shall be complied.

- At all time IECS shall monitor the work so as far as reasonably practical
the storage of rubbish, waste materials and debris at work face . all waste
materials shall be removed from the workplace to suitable areas.
