“THE USE OF MEME AND SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM”

Beloved Administrators, Respected Parents and Dear Students, Good Morning
and Welcome to our 2021 CoVid-19 Conference.

The year 2020 was full of surprises and obstacles that test our resiliency and
vulnerability. To name one, we have Coronavirus (COVID-19), an infectious
disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. It is mainly transmitted
through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales.
With this Covid-19 living with us, it definitely altered our lives in an unimaginable
way.
When the telephone boots to smartphones were invented and the world-wide-
web was introduced to people, technology became part of our daily lives. We use
this at home, from our appliances and to our gadgets that we use at school and
offices. We started to use this to get our job easily done and we basically use this
every single day. But since the lockdown has started, our communication has
been severely affected. We weren’t able to see nor get in touch physically to our
loved ones. The economy dropped, stores and businesses were forced to close
even the employees, they had to leave or if not by choice, the companies had to.
It’s fascinating how a mere micro-organism can make a global effect despite its
micro-size, it has an unparalleled macro effect on us.
The technology once again saved us and resolved our biggest dilemma in our
current situation. Lot of people now were engaged in this modernization. Now
that we have gadgets with different software applications, the Filipinos found a
silver lining amidst the pandemic situation. We have Lalamove, Grab, and Food
panda for example, people now purchased goods through these applications,
while others started their online businesses using different social media
platforms.
Despite the struggles, we’re still standing here as one trying to survive. Mahatma
Gandhi once said, “The future depends on what we do in the present”, what he
simply implies here is what we do today is a reflection of our actions that in the
end we either benefit or suffer from it.
If we depend on others and do not take initiatives to prevent the prolonging of
this virus, perhaps, we should just stay still in our home, while a lot of people
sacrifice their lives to suppress the CoVid-19. However, if every one of us will
cooperate to prevent this catastrophic event that we’re experiencing then we
must take action and cooperate with the higher-ups. Mahatma Gandhi is a
splendid leader because he has brilliant followers. With that in mind, as a leader
who has a responsibility to make a change and influence others, I want your full
support to address Covid-19 problem to youth. To resolve this we must
acknowledge first what is the problem.
Nowadays, students are forgetful. They easily forget the important information, if
not, they are selective to what they want to hear and what they want to learn.
Thus, the essence of relaying the important messages will be useless.
Therefore, the students should be alert and be always ready for the important
things they need in times of crisis. They must be added to their respective group
chat and be informed by the help of ICT students.
In addition to wearing masks and practicing social distancing, we will use the
technology to create memes. In this way it will be helpful to attract the students’
attention. Using memes will be our great advantage to spread our current
situation specifically to young ones who are fund and interested in this. A meme
will be our medium since a research has been conducted in Taiwan where it has
been effective in suppressing the virus. Some may take this as a joke or just a
funny meme but it will never be nonsense since it serves its purpose to spread
awareness.
Producing this might take a while, but a micro effort will have a macro effect if
only we work hard together to achieve one goal.
Twenty-twenty was indeed a hard year to beat and up to this day we are still
facing CoVid-19. But it definitely changed us from our way of living to our
perspective in life. This sudden change made us adaptable to unpredictable
circumstances. We learned to survive in harsh conditions and we made this far by
embracing the inevitable change that we face every day. This time, we are ready,
way more prepared and knowledgeable from our past mistakes. Once again,
Thank you for listening and hopefully, history will not repeat itself.
