In terms of technology, what details in the setting of the film are like the setting in which you live or in various
places you have been? What are those similarities and what are the differences?

In terms of technology in the movie setting, it reminds of me of the times when we go visit my grandma’s
hometown in the province. There is no WIFI and good signal there because it is very far in the South. The only
signal in there is when we go to the municipal. This experience is the nearest one I have that is kind of like the
movie because, in the movie they need to learn and analyze everything to be able to achieve what they want to
achieve. There is no Google helping them only books and their pure intelligence.

What is the key moment in the story, the scene which brings illumination or an “ah-ha” moment?

The key moment in the story is when Johnson wrote the top secret equations of a project in the board while the
white men are watching in awe of her brilliance and others were questioning her intelligence.

Many stories explore important social, political, and technological issues. Describe any specific social, political,
and technological issues that affect the story. How do these issues impact characters and influence theme?
(Theme is the general idea or insight about life expressed by the author)

In terms of social issues Johnson and the African-American women were discriminated in their workplace because
of their skin color. Their bathroom is in a different area, the office for black women are separated and they are
always set-aside for promotion despite their advance intelligence. Their edcuation is also hindered. The
governmnet does not allow them to take a more advance degree like masters and doctorates specifically like in
the movie is mathematics and IT. or programming.

In terms of technological issues in their time, technology is limited. They need to learn and study more about
something in order to build or achieve it unlike now we only need to search in Google.

Based on the timeline of the story, describe the technology during those years and compare them to the
technology in the Philippines.

The technology before and the technology in the Philippines right now are very different because the Philippines
now have an advance technology but not like other countries. In the movie the tech. they are making are related
to spacecrafts, when you compare it to the Philippines, our country does not have that because our country does
not focus on spacecraft technology, but a lot of Filipino's right now are educated and are good in math, they just
lack opportunities.
