I. MODULE TITLE: PROPER CARE FOR OUR FACE, HAIR, HANDS AND FEET

II. MODULE DESCRIPTION:


Personal and Professional Development starts with a basic introduction of personality. It then goes on to
look at personality psychology, and the main influences on personality development. You will also delve into
looking at basic personality traits, including values and beliefs. You will learn about your own personality and how
you can use that information in career choices and to make changes. You will also learn about some personality
disorders and how to put all the information together to use it to your personal or career advantage.

This deals with holistic approach to personality development. It aims to develop self-confidence and enhance
self- esteem by providing students with techniques to achieve personal success through self- motivation,
assertiveness and projecting professionalism. It prepares students to deal with people at different levels by
adjusting to situations and circumstances in a corporate environment. It emphasizes business etiquette and the
Code of Ethics of Professionals

III. EXPECTED OUTCOME/ OBJECTIVES: At the end of this module, you are expected to:

1. Identify different face shapes.


2. Matching hairstyle with the face shapes
3. Identify what to put on your face to avoid face problems such as pimples, acnes etc
4. Apply the correct makeup on your face
5. Apply proper hand and hair care

FACE FIRST

There’s no such thing as a perfectly contoured face. The trick is to find the style that looks terrific on you. A bad haircut
can exaggerate flaws, a good one will enhance your features and make your face look more well proportioned.

6 Basic types of Faces


 A face that's narrow at the top and wide at the bottom is triangle-shaped.
 If your face is slightly longer than it is wide, and your cheekbones are the widest part of your face, with a
rounded chin, you probably have an oval
 If it is widest at the forehead and cheeks and narrow at the chin, you have a heart shaped face.
 If it is broadest at the forehead and jawline, then your face is square.
 A Diamond-shaped face is fullest at the center.
 If your face looks circular and you have full cheeks, Its shape is round.

1. Wash the skin three or four times a day


2. Resist the temptation to squeeze with the fingertips

4. Eat a well balanced diet
5. Get out in the sun but don’t burn

4. Cream-cake – condensed version of the whipped; thicker and richer than any foundation

7. Medicated – issued by dermatologist to combat excessive oil or blemished skin

3. How to apply powder correctly


 Application of powder sets the foundation; use of powder brush is essential in application of loose
powder
 Types of powder
a. Translucent – gives an off-white or beigy tone; no color and is recommended
b. Pressed translucent – available for touch ups during the day
c. Iridescent or pearlized powder – augments or intensifies the applied foundation
4. How to perfect your brow
 Brows are important feature of the face; they convey moods and expressions but most important they
frame the eyes
 Either brow brush or pencil is used in shaping the brow
5. How to do a successful eye make up
 Eyes are the focal point of the face. They are the objects people look into while speaking or trying to
evaluate an impression or mood.
 Windows of the soul
 Professional make up is made up of three, sometimes four-color zones and the same amount of color
tones
 Lid color – applied from corner to corner; from roof of lash up to the contour color
 Contour color – applied in natural looking, shadow imitating soft line along the natural
crease of the lid
 Highlighting color – applied to the area directly beneath the brows down to the contour
color
 Super highlight color – applied only when added emphasis is needed for greater
distance between brow and lash
 The size and shape of eyes should be considered in doing successful eye make up

 The cosmetics used for structuring are the face contours, face highlighter and cheek highlighters
 The most popular corrective makes up tips are those which alter the nose
 The lip color should be selected to heighten one’s attractiveness.

Oblong – length is the key. On or above shoulder.
Square – cut with soft waves or a bit fringe to minimize strong jaws

Oily skin has tiny beads of moisture that clings to the surface giving the skin the greasy look while dry skin appear flaky and flat.

Professional eye make up is made up of three or four color zones and the same amount of color tones, lid color, contour color highlight color and
sometimes the super highlight color. Cosmetic sculpturing is the use of highlighting and countouring. Eyeliner is to define the eye and give it greater clarity
and structure. The eye browis drawn thicker line in inner corner and lighter strokes at the end.

First step, applying a veil of foundation and powder. Next, outline them with lip liner. After the liner fill the rest of the lips with lipstick by blending the
