WHAT IS INSIDE MEDIA AND INFORMATION

LITERACY MODULE

This page intends to inform you clearly about the parts of the Course Module in Media and
Information Literacy module.

The Course Module contains seven (7) major parts, which correspond to learning activities
you have to accomplish to finish a module and continue in accomplishing the succeeding ones
until you finish the whole course.

Below are the parts of the module:

1.Let’s Set the Goals

What’s the first thing you would to know whenever your teacher introduces a new lesson or
activity?

You have the following questions: What’s expected from me? How to successfully accomplish
(or survive) this new lesson?

This part of the module conditions your mind on the objectives or targets of the lesson. It
may serve as your checklist to monitor whether or not you are meeting the standards and
attaining the necessary competencies of the lesson. If so, you can easily survive every
module!

2.Let's Set the Mark

You cannot go in a battle unarmed!

 Just like in a class, teachers believe that lessons are interconnected with each other;
therefore, they cannot say that students like you do not have a single idea about the topic
being discussed.
You have your existing knowledge about it! We just have to unlock it. This prior knowledge if
unleashed, allows you to grasp and understand new concepts, invaluable insights, and have
another meaningful learning experience.

This part of the module intends to interconnect your existing knowledge with the new topic,
and use it to help you address difficulties that you might encounter in the lesson at hand.

3.Let's Get Started

  Take a sneak peek!

This part of the module sets the mood of the class into learning new concepts. Consider this
as a simple activity that intends to engage you into wanting more about the lesson.

4.Let's Gear Up

Brace yourself for another learning experience!

You might want to make use of your prior knowledge here.

This part of the module enlightens you on the new terms, concepts that you encounter in the
new lesson. Understanding them through a stand-alone learning module may be challenging
for you. Luckily, this includes developmental activities that reinforce comprehension of the
new lesson. These activities push you into acquiring new knowledge, developing essential
skills, overall, attaining the competencies.

5.Let's Test Your Knowledge

  Prove that you are understanding!

As usual, the only way to ensure that we attain the essential competencies of the lesson is
through tests or evaluation.

This part of the module administers appropriate, relevant, and authentic forms of
assessment, not only to test whether or not you memorize the terms, acquire knowledge, etc.
but to make way for you to use whatever you have learned in order to address real-world
problems or concerns.
6.Let's Ponder on This

   Reflect on it!

This part of the module assists you in making meanings from what you have learned. You get
to determine implication of your newly acquired knowledge, skills, and attitude to different
aspects of life.

7.Let's Practice Further

  Practice makes perfect!

If you want to ensure that new knowledge you have stays with you for future use, this part
of the module helps you reinforce your understanding of the lesson.
