USES
ALBATEX OA dye protector is an anti-reduction agent protecting disperse dyes from yield loss
during HT exhaust dyeing of polyester fibers and their blends with, e.g. cellulose or viscose rayon.
The protection is particularly required when dyeing with reduction-sensitive dyes (many dyes with
high wet fastness, many bluish reds and navies) in fully flooded machines (less oxygen in dyebath)
and/or at higher temperatures than the usual 130°C.
Characteristics Benefits
• Fully compatible with our • Robust system also for critical cases. Safe
recommended TERASIL W and fulfilment of maximum requirements regarding
TERASIL W-EL dyes and fastness properties.
UNIVADINE products.
• No intrinsic color and no noticeable • Assured brilliance and clarity, including of pale
affinity for PES. shades.
• Low viscosity and good storage • Pumpable and easy to handle. Suitable for
stability. container transport and storage.

APPLICATIONS
ALBATEX OA dye protector is added to the dyebath at the start of the dyeing cycle in the HT
exhaust method.
Dissolving/diluting
The product must be thoroughly stirred before removal from the container. It can be mixed with
water in all proportions.
Required amount
1–3 g/l ALBATEX® OA (minimum amount for exhaust method: liquor ratio 10:1)
Exhaust method
NOTES
Lignin sulfonate based dispersing agents could cause reduction of disperse dyes. It is therefore
advisable to use dispersing/leveling and diffusion accelerating agents without any reducing effect
like
UNIVADINE DPL, UNIVADINE DP, UNIVADINE TOP, UNIVADINE NFL, UNIVADINE DIF and
UNIVADINE PB.
