RUCOFIN GSQ 200 NEW

COMPOSITION Compound of polysiloxanes, cationic

USES Concentrated, hydrophilic, sewability-improving silicone softening and smoothing agent for
textiles of all fibre type.
Especially suitable for white goods or microfibres

PROPERTIES - Confers a very soft, voluminous handle with good surface smoothness
- Excellent maintenance of the absorptive properties of hydrophilic textiles
- High resistance to yellowing
- Confers effects resistant to mild washing
- Increases elasticity and elastic recovery of knitwear
- Improves anticrease properties, tear strength and abrasion resistance in resin finishing
- Improves sewability
- Applicable in wide pH range (pH 1 - 10)
- High running and shear stability
- Suitable for pad or exhaust processes (jet-stable/pretrials)

TECHNICAL DATA - Milky, white to yellowish emulsion

- Specific gravity at 20°C ca. 1.0 g/cm³
- pH value ca. 5 – 7
- Resistant to hard water
- Readily dilutable in cold water in any ratio

APPLICATION RUCOFIN GSQ 200 NEW is applied wherever very soft, smoothing handle effects are
desired, whilst readily maintaining the fabric’s hydrophilic properties. This macroemulsion is
highly stable and resistant to yellowing. The product can be used in resin finishing.

In principle, when using silicone softeners, wash, rinse and acidify the fabric thoroughly after
pretreatment to remove residual substances (anionic substances, size, etc.), which may
cause liquor instabilities.

RUCOFIN GSQ 200 NEW is diluted with cold or warm water (ca. 30°C) and added directly
to the finishing liquor. Adjust the finishing liquor with monobasic acids (eg acetic acid – do
not use formic acid) to a pH of ca. 4.5 – 5.5 before adding RUCOFIN GSQ 200 NEW to
guarantee optimum running properties and effects.

The product is especially suitable for applications in machines with low shear forces. In
machines with high shear forces and liquor turbulence (eg in jets, cheese dyeing machines),
it is imperative to run pretrials when using RUCOFIN GSQ 200 NEW. In these machines, the
product may tend to foam.

Test the compatibility prior to the application with other finishing agents (combination
recipes).

INFORMATION ON SPRAYING APPLICATION

During the spraying of textile auxiliaries aerosols arise. They may be a potential danger for
man. Therefore spray in closed installations only, or else discharge optimally and provide for
good room ventilation to avoid spreading of the aerosols in the work environment. Do not
breathe in aerosols!

STORAGE If stored below 0 °C or above 40 °C, the product may solidify and/or change its consistency.
After heating or cooling to 20 ° - 25 °C and thorough mixing, the product can be used again
without any problems.

ATTENTION The above recommendations are based on comprehensive studies and experience made in
practical finishing. They are, however, without liability regarding property rights of third
