Dear Sir/Madam:

Greetings!
UP NAMNAMA – Baguio, an academic and socio-cultural organization,
and UP Pre-Medical Society- Baguio, an academic and socio-civic
organization, are duly-recognized organizations in the University of the
Philippines Baguio geared towards the pursuit of excellence through
providing academic and social growth within the region and beyond, as
well as encouraging a widening awareness of the societal issues in the
country.

In light of this, UP NAMNAMA – Baguio and UP Pre-Medical Society -

Baguio shall collaborate and hold the first MEDALLA, a national academic
and public health conference consisting of different academic
competitions and lecture series pooling the country's best minds. It aims
to promote students' intellectual, social, cultural, and public health
awareness through an interscholastic competition and lecture series.
MEDALLA is the Ilocano term for “medal”. It pertains to an object that has
commemorative purpose and many are given as awards as a form of
recognition. In this endeavor UP NAMNAMA – BAGUIO and UP Pre-
Medical Society - Baguio aim to recognize the purpose of each individual
participating in the event while still carrying out honor and excellence
amidst the current health crisis.

Academic competitions include Public Health Opinion Writing, Science and

Health Writing, Online Mobile Photography, Digital Poster Making, Medical
Trivia Quiz Bee, and Public Health Debate.
IN FOCUS: EXPLORING AND UNDERSTANDING THE PHILIPPINE PUBLIC HEALTH

The lecture series includes Investigating the Current Health Situation of the
Philippines, Albularyo: Exploring the Cultural Beliefs on Health Management,
and Beyond Borders: CoViD-19 Procurement and Distribution.

This year's event bears the theme: "In Focus: Exploring and Understanding
the Philippine Public Health." With this, we would like to invite you to share
our faith in reaching our goals by participating in the first MEDALLA:
National Academic and Public Health Conference on February 15 - 20, 2021
