NARRATIVE REPORT:
In reference with the Presidential Proclamation No.452 signed on August 25,1994 by then
President Fidel V. Ramos, BCNHS-Fort del Pilar Annex participated the National Mental Health
Care for All: Let’s Make it a Reality conducted by Philippine Mental Health Association
Incorporation.
Amidst the mental health challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, PMHA
encouraged everyone to joined initiatives and conversations in advocating access to mental health
services for Filipinos. This is in line with the October 10 World Mental Health Day global theme of the
World Health Organization.
With the given program activities, the Mapeh Department participated in some different
programs and activities of the said institution as highlighted the role of mental health stakeholders,
champions, advocated and the general public in ensuring that mental health is included in the individual,
community and national response initiatives during this unprecedented health crisis.

The faculty members used color Blue attire for the “Light up Blue for Mental Health”
campaign as a symbol of serenity, peace and calmness during these difficult times of the pandemic. This
is also to signify the support of the faculty for the promotion of mental health and well-being of the
Filipino people. The faculty who are on Physical reporting had their photo opportunity at the FDPA

The MAPEH Department attended webinar on “Self-Care 101: A journey of Loving the Self”
from 8:30-11:30 am which was conducted by PMHAI CDO-Misamis Oriental Chapter in Partnership
with the Life Project 4 Youth CDO.
The objective of this webinar focuses on the strengthening connectedness with self by
recognizing the meaning of self-care in this time of adversity. This also emphasized ways on how to
developed effective healthy self-care practices.

The speaker on the 2nd day of the webinar is Dr. Carolina Uno-Rayco, PMHAI NATIONAL
Executive Director entitled Mental Health in an Unequal World: Out of the Shadows and in to the
Sunshine. The webinar focused on the issues that perpetuated mental health inequality locally and
globally.
Wise words are in the saying that “we should lock-in what we have learnt from lockdowns”.
There are already many good initiatives underway in our communities and workplaces. The greater
challenge is to ensure that no one is left alone without help. Mental health and ensuing wellbeing are an
inseparable part of a happy, healthy and productive life. It is necessary to look more from a preventive
and fostering perspective.
