Carnival Corporation Casino Division

Blackjack Tournament Rules

BLACKJACK TOURNAMENT

The following rules outline the conduct of Carnival Corporation Casino Division (CCCD) Blackjack
Tournaments. Only with the express permission from your Executive Casino Hosts should there
be any deviation from these rules.

Please ensure that these instructions are adhered to as a whole and as a part of the entire Casino
Tournament Guidelines as established by the CCCD Quality and Compliance Manager.

The Blackjack Tournament should not only be seen as a form of raising Casino revenue, but as
part of the entertainment offered on board your vessel.

Tournament presentation and professionalism are your priority. However, remember that the goal
of the Blackjack Tournament is “FUN”.

Coaching/Advice

Under no circumstances should any CCCD employee be seen to give an unfair advantage to a
Tournament entrant.

Tournament Set-up

The Tournament Host is to be present in the Casino at least an hour before the commencement of
the Tournament to make necessary announcements.

Tournament Host should be at Tournament table with all necessary equipment set-up and prizes at
least 30 minutes prior to commencing qualifying rounds.

During the 30 minutes prior to commencing the Tournament, the Tournament Host may circulate
the Tournament area to interact with guests. This will allow for guest enquiries and to ensure that
the Tournament is conducted in a timely fashion. The Tournament Host may take this opportunity
to sign up guests for the qualifying rounds.

The Tournament Host will only be allowed to sell tickets for cash, coins, tokens or chips,
immediately prior to a Tournament and during the event, should people wish to re-enter the same
tournament.

Each Tournament Host should have available a personal supply of tickets marked on the reverse
side in the following manner: Tournament Host tickets will all be marked with an ‘H’ or H1
respectively.

Each Tournament Host will also have at his/her disposal a small cash float of $100/£50 in the event
of a Guest requiring change for a ticket purchase. This cash float may be issued by any one of the
cashier personnel.

Each ship should be in possession of the new lockable tournament ticket collection boxes. In the
event this is not the case, or the box is damaged, the Manager is to issue and record one seal for
the ticket collection box which should be attached to the Tournament leader board.

At no time should the Tournament Host leave the Tournament area unsupervised.

Equipment

Hand counter should be visible on table

Scores will be recorded on signup sheets
Shuffle machine with 6 decks of cards (not cancelled) checked as normally done with the
opening procedures of a BJ table. For ships without shuffle machines, a five-deck shoe will be
used with regular playing cards which have been cancelled
Tournament chip float and die for Grand Final round
Tournament speaker and microphone
Ticket collection box with seal
Cards will be shuffled prior to each round using the 2nd part of the procedural shuffle
Guests will not cut the cards for any qualifying round except the Grand Final – in which case the
top qualifier will be allowed to cut the cards
Cutting card is to be placed underneath to cover bottom card only

Tournament table must be fitted with Tech-Art device. Cards will be inserted sideways to check for
Blackjack, both Aces and picture cards. If this is not possible, check cards by covering and lifting
slightly.

Signage

Ensure that the official CCCD Blackjack Tournament Rules poster is on display at the Tournament
table prior to and for the duration of the entire Tournament. Ticket collection box is to be secured
to sign or table as illustrated below.

Tournament Leader Board will clearly display Grand Final time and
position number of the leaders. If your ship runs the WildCard
promotion, this position is to be clearly identified. Board should have
sufficient CLEAN magnetic strips.

Additional magnetic strips can be ordered through purchasing

(contact your Executive Casino Hosts) and dry erase pens and
erasers are available from Central Stores.

Ensure the leader board is kept clean and presentable at all times. In
order to easily erase whiteboard markers, ensure magnetic strips are
coated with a layer of clear packing tape.

Prizes

The prize distribution is as follows:

Highest qualifying score is to receive an OPC polo shirt.

All finalists receive an OPC t-shirt, OPC key chain and OPC beads (if available)

Prizes will be awarded at the completion of the Grand Final as follows:

1st = $500 in cash, Tournament Trophy, in addition to:

tote bag, key chain, deck of OPC cards & hat
2nd = tote bag, key chain, deck of OPC cards & hat
3rd = tote bag, key chain, deck of OPC cards & hat

The Tournament cash prize should be collected just prior to the finals at the completion of the
qualifying rounds. If the Tournament Host is unable to collect it, contact the Casino Manager on
duty. The Tournament Host should never carry any prize money for a prolonged period of time as
this becomes a liability and security issue.

Prize money for table tournaments will be awarded in chips to

encourage further play at the tables.

$500 will be presented as one rack of 5 stacks of $5 cash chips as

illustrated here. Prize structures varying from this, are to be
authorized by Operations Managers and the Marketing team only.

Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be distributed at the completion of
the Grand Final.

Keep track of scores towards the few remaining hands. In the event that more than onefinalist
loses all their chips at once, prizes will be issued to the finalists according to their score/chips from
the last hand they played.

Tournament Conduct – Qualifying Rounds

a) Seating

A maximum of nine guests may play in each round using all nine boxes. Guests should be signed
up in advance using signup sheets displaying qualifying rounds timed at 15 minute intervals.

Seat the guests, take their Tournament entry tickets and place them in the sealed collections box.
At no time leave tickets unsecured or in view of guests.

Never sit a guest down to play after the qualifying period has expired. We could be held liable.

Issue each guest with 10 orange $100 Tournament chips and identify which box they will be
playing. First seat will take first box and last seat will take last box as on a regular table game.

4
Updated: 07/01/2007
Identify the different denomination chips which may end up being used, such as green $500 chips
and white $1,000 chips.

Use orange $100 chips for all payouts; this assists guests in visually estimating how much they
have or how much their competitor has.

Use green $500 chips and white $1000 chips only after you run out of orange $100 chips.

Never leave any cards face down, even for entertainment purposes. This affects other guest’s
play, they can not see what the card is, and it may have some bearing on their play.

Even though the goal of a Blackjack Tournament is “FUN”, you must ensure that you give the same
full explanation of the rules to ALL players at the beginning of each round of play.

b) Explanation of Rules to the Guests

Once you have issued $1,000 in chips to the players for the round you would address your guests
with the following information:

“You all have $1,000 in Tournament chips, and the minimum bet is $100 with NO MAXIMUM.

Blackjack pays 2 to 1, there is no insurance or even money.

You may double down on any first two cards, not just 9, 10 or 11.
You may double for less if you choose (show example with chips).

You may split any two cards of the same value but only for the same amount of chips (show
example with chips).
You may split a maximum of 3 times to make 4 hands.
You may split any cards with a value of 10, Jacks, Queens and Kings all hold the same value of 10.
Aces are split to receive one card only even if they receive another Ace.

You have only seven hands of blackjack with your objective being to make as much money as you
can from those seven hands.

At the end of the seven hands the chips left in front of you will be your score.

The top 7 scores (and wildcard if included) play in today’s Final at (time) for the chance to win $500
CASH!

If you do not have enough points to qualify for the leader board you are welcome to purchase
another ticket and re-enter the Tournament.
If you enter more than once only your best score will be counted and scores will not be combined.

Take advantage of these rules because in the sixth and seventh hand it may be necessary to split
tens or double down on a sixteen to make the board. If you don’t bust you still have a good chance
of beating the dealer.

Updated: 07/01/2007
Don’t forget – these are Tournament chips and you can’t take them with you!
Does anyone have any questions? GOOD LUCK!”

c) Tournament Rules

Adhere to the CCCD Blackjack Tournament rules as displayed on the poster.

Entry fee is $20, with tickets available from Cashiers or Tournament Host
Cards must be shuffled prior to each round and cut with cutting card by host only
Burn the first card of the shoe – show it to the guests first
Each player will be issued $1,000 in orange $100 Tournament chips
The Minimum Bet is $100 with NO MAXIMUM
Blackjack pays 2 to 1 – there is NO insurance and NO even money
Players may double-down or double-down for less on any first two cards
Players may split any two cards of the same value and the original wager must be matched
Players may split a maximum 3 times to make a total of 4 hands
Aces are split to receive one card only
Each round consists of seven hands of blackjack
At the end of seven hands the chips remaining in front of players will be their score
The top 7 scores (including the wildcard position if in use) will play in the Grand Final at the
displayed time on board

Entrants may enter more than once - only the best score will be counted. Scores will not be
combined. At the completion of each qualifying round, Tournament Leader Board will be updated.

Names displayed on leader board must be clearly legible using whiteboard markers. Score is to be
displayed on the far right. Nick-names may be used; however the original name must also be
displayed in parenthesis.

Ensure that all first and last names are written down as well as scores, even if the guest does not
make the leader board. For security reasons we are then able to confirm the guests score if they
forget and enquire later on in the tournament.

Never sit a guest down to play after the qualifying period has expired. We could be held liable.

Tournament Conduct – The Final

a) Prize Money

Prior to a Tournament Final, the Tournament Host must collect the prize money from a Cashier.
Prize money for table tournaments will be awarded in chips to encourage further play at the tables.
$500 will be one rack of 5 stacks of $5 cash chips (or as directed by Operations Managers and
Marketing team).

The cashier issuing the prize funds will complete a petty cash voucher inclusive of gaming date,
amount issued, “Prize Money for Blackjack Tournament”, Cashier signature, Tournament Host
signature.

6
Updated: 07/01/2007
NOTE: Tournament winners should be asked to sign the Host’s copy of the prize money receipt
(yellow copy) as acknowledgment of receiving the funds.

Distribution of the petty cash receipts will be as follows:

i) White original for inclusion in the Cashier’s drawer, later to be included as a positive line
item on their closing bank summary
ii) Yellow copy for the Tournament Host to attach to the ‘Tournament Revenue Calculation
Sheet’ in support of the prize issued.

Cashier – white copy Host – yellow copy

b) Grand Final Set-up

The Grand Final will be conducted at the time displayed on the board and no earlier with the same
rules as the qualifying rounds.

Guests who do not show up at the advertised time for the Final (within reasonable time – before
the commencement of the first hand) will be disqualified and removed from the Final. In the event
of a no show, you will proceed with fewer players.

The person who qualifies must be the person who plays in the finals, guests cannot select
replacements/substitutes.

Two Casino staff members must be present at the Final, preferably the Casino Manager on Duty
and Tournament Host.

Grand Final table will be set-up PRIOR to finalists taking their seats. This includes Ocean Players
Club gifts, shuffled cards, tournament chips and cash prize of $500.

7
Updated: 07/01/2007

On vessels not using a shuffle machine, the cards will be shuffled and placed in the middle of the
table with the cutting card placed on top. Top qualifier on the board is to cut the cards when the
Grand Final commences.

$1,000 in 10 orange Tournament chips will be placed around the insurance line for the seven
finalists in front of their chairs.

Finalist prizes such as OPC T-shirts and OPC Winner beads (if available) will be placed on the
table in front of each seat. See the above illustrations as an example.

After confirming all finalists are present, once again explain the Tournament rules to the finalists.
Advise the players of the following 3 important changes which may have some bearing on which
seat they will choose.

Finalists are to keep their chips separated by denomination in full view of all other finalists. No
chips are to leave the table or be covered.
It is up to finalists to play their own hand and no advice is to be given by Casino staff, finalists or
spectators.

8
Updated: 07/01/2007
Grand Final will involve a betting order, with a die as the marker representing FIRST BET which
will move from box to box. (See Betting Order below). Once the finalist makes their bet, they
can not change it.

Only after this may the finalists select their seats based on their ranking from the leader board.

The finalist with the most points from the qualifying round will select their seat first and so on down
the qualifying list until all seven are seated. The WildCard promotion will identify the winner of the
WildCard raffle taking the last position.

If two or more guests have the same score, each guest will be asked to roll the die. Highest
number chooses first.

c) Dealing Order

The dealing order will remain the same as the qualifying rounds. This means no rotating first and
last box. The first card out of the shoe will always be dealt to the first box or the closest one to it
with chips remaining.

d) Betting Order

A betting order must be adhered to in the finals – a die will be used as the marker.

For the first hand the first box places their bet first, continuing clockwise around the table until
seventh box places their bet last.

In the second hand the second box will place their bet first, continuing clockwise around the table
returning back to the first box who now places their bet last.

The marker will continue to move to the next box with each consecutive hand. The betting order
marker is always placed in front of a player. If any finalist has lost all their chips, then the betting
order marker cannot be placed in front of an empty box.

The marker must be placed in front of the next finalist with chips even if that means returning back
to the first box.

Should more than two finalists lose all their chips, then the marker still moves to the next box that
has chips remaining.

Following the sixth hand of the Final, the dealer will stop, count and announce all Tournament
chips as held by the finalists. At no other time will the dealer stop and assist in counting chips for
Finalists, it is their responsibility to watch their opponents during the first 6 hands.

Ties (qualifying rounds and Grand Final)

Ties will receive the same dealing procedure and rules as the Grand Final and will be settled in the
following manner:

Each tied player will roll a die with the highest result to choose their seat first.
Each tied player will be given $1,000 in orange $100 Tournament chips.
They will receive three hands of Tournament blackjack
A die will be used to determine the betting order.
The player with the most chips at the end of 3 hands will be deemed the winner of the tie.

Photography

When taking promotional photos Tournament Host may choose to follow either of the following two:

1. Grand Finalists will be photographed as a group. All guests will complete the appropriate Photo
Release Form and instructed that their photos will be used for promotional purposes in the Casino.
Email addresses may be recorded for the future; photo may be attached electronically and sent.

2. Winner will be photographed alone with prize, and a copy will be made available to them to be
picked up later from Cashier desk.

Remember to frame the winner’s face and prize with trophy. Do not take photos from a distance as
these are difficult to see from a marketing perspective. Use the camera flash at all times.

Revenue Reporting Paperwork

Post Tournament all paperwork should be completed immediately and submitted to the Head
Cashier.

All cash and chips received for tournament entries will de deposited with any Cashier and
appropriate receipts will be issued incorporating the following information:

gaming date and amount collected

description “Host Sales - Blackjack Tournament Entries (12 @ $20 and 10 @ $10)”
Cashier signature with Tournament Host signature

Distribution of the petty cash receipts will be as follows:

i) White original for the Tournament Host to attach to the ‘Tournament Revenue
Calculation Sheet’.
ii) Yellow copy for inclusion in the Cashier’s drawer, later to be included as a negative
line item on their closing bank summary as an offset to the additional cash received.

Host – white copy Cashier – yellow copy

Any discrepancy – tickets issued verses cash collected by the Tournament Host - will be applied to
the Summary of Overs and Shorts by the Head Cashier. The discrepancy value must be posted
against the Tournament Host’s name and ID number.

An ‘Executive’ witness must be present for the breaking of the numeric seal or the opening of the
lock on the ticket collection box and throughout the process of recording the actual number of
tickets played.

The Tournament Revenue Calculation Sheet will be completed manually. The Tournament Host
will attach all copies from issued receipts:

Tournament Prize Money (yellow copy)

Receipt from Cashier from return of cash sales monies (white copy)

Both the Tournament Host and their ‘Executive’ witness will sign off on this form prior to all
paperwork and available tickets being forwarded to the Head Cashier for clarification at a later
date.

These figures will also be entered into the Revenue Template 2005 spreadsheet electronically. All
ticket sales and promotional items will be recorded in the individual tournament logs.

Details of promotional coupons (either “2nd Tournament entry FREE” or “2nd Tournament entry
HALF PRICE”) will be collected from the Head Cashier at voyage end and entered into the
electronic Host Revenue Report.

Tournament Cancellation

Only in extreme circumstances should a scheduled Tournament ever be cancelled, and this action
can only be exercised by Casino Management.

Remember tournaments need not always be primarily revenue generators for the Casino.
Tournaments are also a scheduled Casino activity. Low sales are not a reason to cancel a
Tournament. Cancellation can negatively impact on the Casino.

If the decision is made to cancel a Blackjack Tournament, all monies should be refunded to the
guests. Every effort should be made to encourage the guests to participate in the next scheduled
Tournament using their current tickets prior to refunding the monies.

Further Clarification

If you have any questions or discussion points, please do not hesitate to contact your Executive
Casino Hosts.
