EXPLAIN AND THE JUSTIFY
The problem:
The problem I have to find a solution for is the struggles of finding a perfect
website which has different recipes to try. The struggle that I face is that I want
to try new and different recipes. I would like a website which consists of
different cultural recipes in one website. For my solution, I have decided to
create a website which also assists other chefs who are going through the same
thing. I must focus on the statement of inquiry that is new ideas can be
diffused into the world through innovative and targeted communication such
as using a website. I need to focus on the Key concept which is communication
& the related concepts which includes innovation & resources to understand
how to solve this problem. I must investigate the key concepts and related
concepts through the Global context which is scientific & technical innovation
– the impact of scientific and technological advances on society and the
environment. I will do this by designing a website.

What is the nature of the problem?


The nature of the problem is that I am struggling to find new and different
recipes to try and create since most of the websites are basic and uses the
same recipes over & over again.

Who is your client?


My client is the people who are going through the same problem as me which
trying to find and create new recipes. The age doesn’t matter, and it is for both
genders.

How and why do you need to solve this problem?


I am going to solve this problem by creating a website which includes new and
different recipes. This website will have videos accompanied with each recipe.
The reason why I want to fix this problem is that I know how it feels to circulate
the whole internet trying to find new recipes.

Design Brief
The problem I am facing is finding different recipes online. Even if I do, there
wouldn’t be any videos or images accompanied with it and sometimes I would
like to know the origin of a certain recipe. This is why I would like to create a
website which includes the following which was stated before.

Criteria For Success


 Teamwork skills: Teamwork skills include asking friends and teacher for
help, getting constructive criticism, editing each other’s websites, and
helping out where possible. Even though, I am working alone. I can still
work together with my classmates in order for me to really understand
the concept of the assessment.
 Resources: Resources that I will be using is the laptop, websites for
recipes, videos, and images.
 Budgeting: Free
 Punctuality: Always hand in the assessment when the due date is given.
Use my time wisely and spending time to work on my assessment.
 Knowledge: I know a lot about different recipes.
 Research: I am going to go through various websites to find credible
recipes, videos, and images.
 Organizational Skills: I am going to organize my timetable according to
my suitable needs and what’s best for me. I am going to complete the
assessment task as soon as possible and that would leave some time to
complete my other assessments.

My website is about cooking recipes. It will consist of different recipes from
around the world consisting of savory and sweet dishes. It will have the
method and the origin, pictures, and videos to accompany the website.

My target marketers are chefs and home cooks.

Yes, I do require imagery and text. I need imagery for the pictures of the
recipes and text to explain what the recipe is about.
4. Any special details that you want to use?
Special details I will be using is adding videos and adding pictures.
5. What do you need to develop?
I need to develop my research and design skills for the website. In order for
me to develop a website, I need to develop my skills further for research in
order for me to find the different recipes.
6. What do you need to research?
I need to research about cultural recipes which is both savory and sweet.

Savory recipes are delicious and full of flavor. The recipes that I will be using
are from different countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Australia, Korea
etc. The dessert recipes will follow the same suit.

She is a tv personality and a chef. She is known as the
top choice for summer recipes. Sunny Anderson is a
NYC times bestselling author. Her book Sunny’s
Kitchen: Easy Food for Real Life made the coveted list
just 10 days after being released and cements the star
chef on a new level.
Aaron Sanchez:
Award winning chef and TV personality Aaron Sanchez
is one of the most accomplished chefs around. Judge
of the hit show MasterChef, Sanchez is also a James
Bear Award winner and Emmy nominated host.
Sanchez is chef and owner of Mexican restaurant
Johnny Sanchez and is partner of Daredevil Tattoo
shop in NYC. Sanchez has also written 2 cookbooks.
Curtis Stone:
Australian chef for hire Curtis Stone brings a global
savvy to our favorite cuisines. Stone co-hosts the FOX
show My Kitchen Rules. Additionally, he serves as
ambassador to multiple cooking brands and
ventures. Celebrity chef for hire Curtis Stone is the on-screen face of Coles

addition to hosting The Kitchen with Jeff Mauro,

Geoffrey Zakaria, she has her own show Beach
Bites with Katie Lee on the Cooking Channel.
Martha Stewart:
Celebrity chef for hire Martha Stewart is a
household name when it comes to food. The
iconic chef and businesswomen is founder of
Martha Stewart Living Omni media. Her
business encompasses e-commerce,
merchandising and publishing. Stewart
recently appeared as a new recurring judge
for Chopped and the Ellen show. In addition,
Stewart is an advisor for cannabis company Canopy Growth and currently
appears in a line of commercials for Postmates.

Research 3
Diseases such celiac disease results to the person not being able to get food
with gluten in it. When being gluten intolerance, the foods you have to avoid is
bread, pasta, cereals, crackers etc. But they can find the gluten free alternative.
Lactose intolerant is caused by a shortage of lactase enzymes, which causes an
inability to digest lactose and results in digestive symptoms. They needs to
avoid dairy products such as milk and ice cream.
Amines are produced by bacteria during food storage and fermentation and
found in a wide variety of foods. People with an intolerance to histamine
should avoid foods high in this natural chemical, including fermented foods,
cured meat, dried fruits, citrus fruits, avocados, aged cheese, smoked fish,
vinegar, and soured foods such as buttermilk.
Sulfites are added to foods like dried fruit to delay browning and wine to
prevent spoilage caused by bacteria. Sulfite sensitivity is most common in
people with asthma, though people without asthma can be intolerant to
sulfites as well. Types of foods that people with sulfites intolerance can’t eat
are dried fruit, wine, apple cider, canned vegetables, pickled foods,
condiments, pickled foods, potato chips, tea, and baked goods.

This research helps with creating my product by giving me an idea of how I want my product
(my website) to turn out like and what kind of recipes should I be adding in order for me to
meet the needs of people who are looking for recipes.

My product is a recipe website which consists of different savoury and sweet recipes. It will
also consist of their background history such as their origin and what the recipes meant. The
website will consist of recipes for people who have food intolerances such as gluten, lactose
and different allergies.
