6/8 complete type 0 CSS requirement analysis: (refer to 38.211/38.213/38.331)

38.213 Section 4.1:

If k_SSB <= 23 (FR1) or k_SSB <= 11 (FR2), then type0 CSS exists.
Otherwise, the type0 CSS does not exist.

The pdcch-ConfigSIB1 in MIB is used to determine the time-frequency domain

position of type 0CSS:

l 4 MSB: used to determine the number of PRB/symbol of CORESET of type 0

CSS

l 4 LSB: used to determine PDCCH monitoring occasion (monitoring occasion)

offset (table 13-1 to table 13-10) : indicates the minimum coreset for type0 css
SSB RB index and the minimum offset frequency domain RB index ( based
coreset of SCS );

ConditionA/B respectively correspond to k_SSB=0 ( that is, subcarrier0 of

CRB0 of SSB overlaps with sc#0 of CRB N_SSB_CRB ) and k_SSB>0.

SSB/CORESET multiplexing pattern (multiplexing pattern):

For pattern 1, the UE listens to the PDCCH of type 0 CSS in two consecutive
slots starting from slot n0. The definition of n0 is as follows:

l i: SSB index

l n0:

If , n0 is within the SFNc that is

satisfied (ie even frame);

If , n0 is within the SFNc that

satisfies (that is, an odd frame);

Among them, M and O are defined by table 13-11 ( forFR1 ) and table13-12 (
forFR2 ), u is the scs of PDCCH, and the 1st symbol index of CORESET

n_C is defined by table 13-11 and table13-12.

Number of search space sets per slot : Refers to the 1st symbol index of the
coreset with 1/2 set.

For pattern 2/3, the UE listens to the PDCCH of type 0 CSS in a slot, and the
period of the type 0 CSS is the same as the SSB period.

l i: SSB index

l n_C: Determined by Table 13-13 to 13-15

l SFN_C: Determined by Table 13-13 to 13-15

Take Table 13-13 as an example:

When SCS of SSB=120K/240K, SSB has 64 indexes, divided into 16 groups,

each with 4 indexes. CORESET/SSB completely overlap in the time domain.
The frequency domain offset is defined in table 13-7:

Assuming k_SSB=0 (condition A) and CORESET N_RB=48, there are 2 kinds
of offset at this time: -41 and 49 (according to 4 LSB selection of pdcch-
ConfigSIB ).

Question: If the offset <0 , then CORESET of RB0 will not fall Point-A
outside?

(1) N_SSB_CRB is a high-level configurable parameter, not

absoluteFrequencyPointA in FrequencyInfoDL IE. 38.331 vf10 does not
include this parameter.

(2) The difference between pattern1/2/3:

Simply put, pattern 1 uses TDM; pattern 2 uses TDM+FDM; pattern 3 uses
FDM.

(3) So for pattern2/3, even if offset<0, CORESET will not fall outside of Point-A
because of FDM.

(4) Two sets of examples of pattern1 and pattern2:

If 24 <= k_SSB <= 29 ( for FR1) or 12 is <= k_SSB <= 13 is (for the FR2) ,
detected by the UE without the first ssb type 0 css corset; in this case based
on the MIB UE pdcch-ConfigSIB1 determined the second ssb of GSCN as

follows: .

For the definition of GSCN (global synchronization channel number),

please refer to 38.104:

SS_REF is the frequency domain position of SSB.

Table 5.4.3.3-1 (for FR1) and table 5.4.3.3-2 (for FR2) respectively define the
GSCN range of each frequency band of FR1/FR2.

Combining the above three tables can get the SS_REF/GSCN

correspondence of per NR band.

If k=31 (for FR1) or k=15 (forFR2) , there is no

corresponding type 0 CSS CORESET for GSCN in the following range .

Among them is the GSCN of SSB, and are respectively

determined by 4 MSB and 4LSB of pdcch-ConfigSIB1 in MIB .

omain resources of PDCCH. How many symbols are there between CORESET
0 and SSB? How to understand the index value corresponding to different i at K
