Types of Calendars:
The Primavera P6 application supports three types of calendars:

A. Global Calendar:

Global calendar can be assigned to any project, activity and resource in the

database. Global calendars are great because they are available for multiple
project schedules.

B. Project Calendar:

Project calendars can be assigned to a specific project or its activities. If the

project calendar is linked to the global calendar then any change made in the
global calendar will be reflected in the project calendar but not vice versa.

C. Resource Calendar:

Resource calendars can be assigned to a specific resource and are used in a

special case where the availability of the resources is critical. It contains a
separate pool of calendars for each project. There are two types of resource
calendars. These are:

 Personal Resource Calendars

 Shared Resource Calendars

Project team must verify that calendars are properly defined because schedules will
incorrectly represent the forecasted start, finish, and durations of planned work if
an incorrect calendar is assigned to resources and activities.
