Template for Term paper/ Video Recording

For the Internal Evaluation of Economics-II, you are expected to write a term paper or create a
video. The topic of the term paper/video should be related to Economics and also have a
dimension of policy or Law in that area. The basic idea of the paper/video is to apply the
theoretical constructs that we learn to your area of study.

Please read the instructions below carefully.

Expected Word Limit: 2500 words

Expected Video Length: 10 minutes
Selection of Topic: 30th Jan 2021
Selection of Format: Video/Paper: 30th Jan, 2021
Date of Submission of Draft: Feb 26, 2021
Date of Final Submission: March 10th 2021
Date for Viva/Presentation: Between March 10-30, 2021

The marking scheme will be as follows:

Research paper/ Video: 15 marks
Viva/Presentation: 5 marks

I. Your term paper may include (but not limited to) the following sections

Cover Page
Abstract

1. Introduction (Should include background and motivation)

2. Literature Review
3. Main Arguments/Discussion/Conclusion
4. Bibliography

II. Format & Style

 Font: Times New Roman
 Please double-space all your text.
  Use 1” margins all round. Use 12 pt font. Number your pages.

Style

 Try to write in the third person whenever possible. For the most part you will be presenting
facts or presenting work done by others in Literature review.

III. References

 Cite articles by author(s) and year within your text. If there is a single author, the last name
and year will suffice – e.g. (Hutchinson, 1995). If there are two authors, include both names
and the year of the publication – e.g. (Hutchinson and Osborne, 1978). For more than two
authors, use the first author with et al. – e.g. (Hutchinson et al., 1984).
 Include the list of references at the end of your paper. Do not include references you have
read but not cited.

For the Video

You can get creative with the video and do it as an interview, as a discussion or as a documentary
recording or any other format you choose. However, please note that the issue/topic selected should
be discussed/ debated.

If you embed videos within your video, these will not be counted in the length of the video. The video
should have a discussion/ argument etc for atleast 7 out of 10 minutes.

The student has to be visible in the video.

Regarding Plagiarism

a) All term papers will be submitted to Turnitin repository and below table will be
used by faculty for deducting marks based on similarity reports:

b) Both external and internal sources will be included in checking the similarity
percentage.
c) Report of Turnitin on similarity index will be treated as conclusive.
