“Reflection”
Just from hearing the title of the movie which is “A Beautiful Mind” is already giving me
ideas or hints on what the movie will be like. Such as if it is an interesting movie or a boring
one so my curiosity brought me to watch it. All I can say is it indeed is worth giving a try. So
for starters John Nash is a mathemathical genius studying at Princeton University although
he goes to school he doesn’t actually attend classes for he find it unreasonable and a waste
of time instead of attending classes he starts on working about an original idea because he
thinks if he is able to accomplish something then he will truly matter. Most think he is a
weird genius because he is unable to fit in the social norm. which is basicly because he is too
smart that people sees it as out of the world or something alien in ways how he handle
things that led him to be a lone wolf not because he wants to but he thinks people doesn’t
like him so he doesn’t like them either. Although he is a poor kid who never got to exter or
andover he won the Carnegie scholarship which is what I expected of him because he’s
genius that led him to able attend the Princeton university.

His idea which is the governing dynamics is recognized that gave him an opportunity to work
at wheeler labs as team leader Dr. John Nash a professor. Then one day he met this guy who
works at the Department of Defense whose name is William Parcher who tries to hire him
out of the blue which I find very odd as a code breaker to find the portable atomic bomb
from the Russians. As he was usually working you know just the same old boring days for a
genius like him suddenly a girl whose name is Alicia Larde asked him out for a date then they
started going out which I will describe as a pair of unnatural couple because the is woman is
also weird. Then after that they got married I wouldn’t be so surprised if they got married
immediately for they think very different. Secretly John Nash goes to the headquarters to
fulfill his mission suddenly Parcher came to the scene and asked him to enter the car
because they are being followed by Russian spies unfortunately he experienced trauma due
to the encounter with spies remembering the sound of gunshots and pursuits. After that as I
watch the movie I realized that Nash is showing signs of paranoia due to the traumatic event
and then a psychiatrist came to Nash whose name is Dr. Rosen my reaction is like Oh my
god what is happening is he a Russian spy or something. But then everything came to light I
am very shocked to find out that Nash is brought to Macarthur Psychiatric hospital and was
diagnosed with a Schyzophrenia disorder. But that’s not all I am very surprised about the
plot twist of the movie that his hallucinations started since graduate school from his
imaginary friend who is Charles Herman and also that he works top secret for the
government and spies trying to haunt him are all part of his delusions. Later on he is
admitted at the psychiatric hospital by his wife for his treatments as I watch how his
treatments are working especially the electric shock it’s as if I can feel his pain through this
glass. I think the main reason why he acquired Schyzophrenia disorser is because of his lack
of company or in other words loneliness. After 1 year is he discharged and able to continue
his life well of course with the help of medication so that it will restrain his delusions. But
the drugs hinders with the capability of his mind to think new ideas and so he stopped
drinking the medication without his wife knowing so that he can create new ideas for him to
be reinstated to his former position. Unfortunately it comes with a price his old sickness
triggers once again almost ended up killing his own son and hurting his wife. Suddenly he
was able to recognize what is a delision and what is a reality that led him to have a decision
with his wife to try living his life out of the hospital but within the society so that he can
recover. Now is living his life with those illusion but he decides to overcome them.

I believe that all people with psychological disorder doesn’t only need medication but also
company and attention to help them recover. We must not treat them differently but try
understand their situation more importantly for them to feel that they are a part of our
society. A beautiful mind is amazing but a wonderful heart is touching.
