Subject: Notice for repair procedure of cylinder head closing cover leakage

Recently we were asked for repair procedure of cylinder head closing cover leakage from
several vessels.
In case of leakage from closing cover(section no. 21100, item no. 115), re-assembly of closing
cover is required on cylinder head body’s machining holes by interference fit with fabrication of
fitting tool as follows.
[Repair procedure]
- Closing cover(sample) – Fig. 1
1) Remove the old closing cover by drilling
2) Fabricate the fitting tool with round bar for interference fit
(Round bar diameter = closing cover diameter – 2 mm)
3) Clean the closing cover hole on cylinder head
4) Insert new closing cover with Loctite 638 by using the fitting tool with hammering
5) Work completion
