The Holiday season is here! We are all looking forward to time with our families and celebrations with
friends and extended family! What a great time for us to celebrate how blessed we are to all be a part
of the Lake Center Elementary family with such a wonderful school, staff, students and especially our
volunteers. I can’t say enough about our PTO and all parent volunteers that help to make Lake Center
the wonderful place it is! We once again had our highest earning Turtle Trot Fundraiser, had an
amazing rst Annual 2nd Grade Folk Dance Night, everyone's sporting their new Spirit Wear, and great
support with our dining out event at Culver's and box tops! Thank you for all you give to our school. We
continue to be amazed by the efforts of our families and we are so grateful to be able to help support
our students and teachers with enrichment materials, eld trips, equipment, supplies, and so much
more throughout the school year!

The PTO would like to extend
a huge thank you to all of the
families that donated
desserts, food and drinks for
the parent-teacher
conference dinners in
November! This is always
such a long and busy week
for the teachers and they
really appreciate having one
less thing to worry about.
Everything looked delicious
and as always we had
leftovers for lunch the next
day! Bonus!
A special thank you to Toyin
Daranijoh for coordinating
the meals from Taco Bob's
and Zoup for our staff!

Super Hero Spirit
Day & Collection
On Friday, December 13th,
join the Student Council for a
Super Hero Spirit Day! Show
your school spirit and wear
your favorite Super Hero
Gear. (No costumes!) Shirts,
pants, and hats are
welcome!!
**Students are also asked to
donate gloves/mittens for
local children to help keep
them warm this winter!**
Six Flags Reading
Program
Would your child like a free
ticket to Six Flags Great
America this summer? If yes,
just have them read (or be
read to) for 6 hours and log
it six ags.com/books you
can use code X4DSW for
Lake Center, or the code you
got from your child’s teacher.
Any non school assigned
reading counts (i.e. Battle of
the Books).
Reading logs can also be
printed off HERE!

 Battle of the
Books
Thank you to all of the
coaches and students who
signed up for Battle of the
Books. We have more than
15 teams this year and are
thrilled that we have many of
our 4th & 5th graders excited
to READ!
Our battle at Lake Center will
be Feb. 10th. The top two
teams will move on to the
Grand Battle on Feb. 17th at
Amberly. Good luck to all!
Yearbook
Yearbooks are now on sale!!
Yearbooks are $14. Order
forms and money are due to
the school by January 17th.
You do not want to miss out!
Delivery will be in June 2020.
