Objectives of the course
from the course description

• to provide a functional map of Business Information Systems and related


Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools
• to become familiar with both core and extended functionalities of ERP systems
• to understand how information systems have evolved over time and how ERPs
represent the result of a continuous and still ongoing functional integration
process
Objectives of seminars on BI

• Introduction to Business Intelligence


• Project Methodology, applied in BI projects
• Relations between ERP and DWH
• How to process data with SAP Business warehouse
• Business case: example of BI project

• additional readings will be provided to you during the course

it is strongly recommended that students watch the videos (or attend classes, if
possible) as the explanations given in class are part of the exam
Grading – BIS 1
• Project work: pass / no pass
• Mark based on final written examination with multiple choice questions

• Project work is individual (no group work allowed)


• Project work dates: March 2, March 5, March 10, March 11, March 17
Grading – BIS 2

• final written examination based on multiple choice questions

• BIS 2 will start after the end of BIS1, around mid April.
