Classroom Management Plan

In my classroom management plan, the main goal is to have the right environment for all
learners. In my commitment to make classroom a challenging and safe environment, I will
actively engage my students through the use of curriculum. I will establish good working
relations with my students by having one on one interactions in class in order to get to know
them better because meeting students’ learning needs forms an integral part of my classroom.
This comfortable interaction between student and teacher creates meaningful discussions and
interactions that lead to better understanding of content. Students will be part of their learning
through group work and open discussions that ensure effective participation for all students as
they learn from me and from each other. These steps will lead to equitable and democratic
classroom that will facilitate effective learning. I will be calm, patient and fair to all students in
order to win their trust and create a favorable learning environment for them to ask questions and
get involve in their learning. As a teacher I will provide and create learning opportunities,
encourage peer mentoring and discussion, and encourage collaboration and sharing of
knowledge. I will allow space for individual approaches to learning and I will hopefully be
flexible and develop a cooperative learning environment. I will allow students to take
responsibility for their own learning and act as the student facilitators, not just lecture on the
content. I will work with students, not tell students what to do.
Classroom management is the foundation to the educational system. A strong
management plan will result in an effective and engaged learning environment. A classroom
management plan is a necessity that every teacher must follow as a result of the law. This plan
sets the expectations for every student. In order for a classroom management plan to be
successful, there must be a complete understanding from the student on each of the guidelines set
in place. At the same time, as a teacher I need to be sure to follow my plan to ensure that the
educational environment is useful to learning.
I. Rules and classroom expectations set the climate of the classroom. They ensure that the
class is civil and responsible for their own actions. Rules are expectations set in place of what an
individual can and cannot do. The following are the rules of my future classroom:
 Treat others as you would like to be treated
 The SIX P’s
1. Be Prompt
2. Be Prepared
3. Be Productive
4. Be Polite
5. Be Patient
6. Participate in Class
Each rule will help to keep the classroom environment safe which creates a positive
learning experience. These rules apply not only to the classroom, but also to everyday life. The
expectations in my class are consistent to the expectations of society. Students must understand
why they should follow the rules set in place. I will relate the rules to everyday life, so students
are more likely to act properly. Understanding is the key to having students act how they should
act according to the standards.
II. Procedures give an understanding to the student of how they are expected to go
through the routines of a day. They allow for order in the classroom, and make sure that
everything is done in the proper manner. After teaching the students the procedures during the
first few weeks of school, they become a natural routine, where reinforcement is used only when
needed. The following are the procedures of my future classroom:
 Students are to be quiet and, in their seat, when the bell rings.
 When the bell rings, then the students will take out any homework from the night
before: This saves time on asking the students to do this every day. They know that as soon as
the bell rings I will start looking at the assignment. Once I have seen everyone’s homework we
will do an activity called “If you really knew me you would know…”
 Seating in the classroom: Students are not to leave their assigned and frequently
changed seats unless they notify me first by raising their hand and asking.
 During lectures: Students will have their notebooks open and be to ready to take notes.
 Group work: The students are told how to place the desks before and after each session.
Also, students will most likely be pre-paired with others in order for the most productive learning
to happen.
 Phones are to be put in the charging station at the front of the room.
 Dismissal: The students do not leave their seats until I dismiss them. This is to ensure
that I finish explaining anything that is important for them to hear.
 Finishing work early: If students finish work early, they have the opportunity to work
on other work, or on the monthly extra credit problem.
 Grading: For every assignment I collect, I will try my hardest under every circumstance
to return them back to the students within two days. For tests and quizzes my goal is to return
them the next day.
