Career Theories
At the end of the session, the participants are expected be able to:
1. Gain understanding on the Basics of Career Guidance.
2. Familiarize themselves with the different Career Theories. No. 2
3. Gain acceptance of their current profession, co-employees and other
professions.
4. Gain acceptance of their current profession, co-employees and other
professions.
5. Appreciate the Benefits of Career Guidance in Schools.
DO:
Motivational Activity: 1. Give the participants a sheet of paper (Tree of Life) and a pen. Tree of Life

NOTE TO FACILITATOR:
an instruction will be given to the participants:
SAY:
In the sheet of paper given, write your career ambition according to the
younger years that you can remember until present. Later, the participants Paper and pen
will be telling their newly found friend about their specific career ambitions as
per instructions.
Note: The energizer of this activity is a revisit from the past career ambitions
to integrate to the topic career guidance.
SAY:
Are you ready participants? Hold your paper as you will be introducing yourself
to a new friend your name and your career ambition in a particular level to be
given but first let me introduce an Asian Greeting game which goes like this:

DO:
Sing and do the action.
SAY:
As you find your first partner, Introduce your name and tell your new found
friend about your name and your first career ambition (When you were five
years old). Then as the second round of the song is done, again introduce your
name and your career ambition when you were in your Grade 6. Another
round of the song and then again introduce your name and your fourth year
high school career ambition.
Note to the Facilitator: During the activity, the facilitator should observe the
group dynamics and note significant ideas.
Analysis: Ask the following questions:
1. Was it easy for you to remember your past career ambitions? 15 minutes
2. How did you feel telling other people about your past career
ambition?
3. How was your past ambition relevant to your present profession?
SYNTHESIS/ Each participant will be given a hexagon cut paper to write their personal Hexagon cut 10 minutes
APPLICATION commitment/contribution to the career guidance program. colored paper
These hexagonal paper will be will be posted in a creative manner on the hearts
board (DepED Vision board).
Closure: SAY: Career Guidance is a very important event that happens in each of our 1 minute
student’s life that makes or breaks for their future. Let us then be courageous
and inspire our students to become what career they want to pursue in the
future for they are also our future.
