“Project MASK” – MAintaining School’s Kinematics

V. RATIONALE
The Department of Education (DepEd) conducted the 2020 Brigada Eskwela with the
theme, Pagpapanatili ng Bayanihan Tungo sa Kalidad na Edukasyon para sa Kabataan,
from May 18 to 23, 2020. The Brigada Eskwela is the National Schools Maintenance Week
that aims to bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time,
effort, and resources to prepare public school facilities for the opening of the school year.
The components of the program are the following:

A. Brigada Eskwela (National Schools Maintenance Week),

B. Brigada Eskwela Plus (Partnership Support for Access), and
C. Brigada Pagbasa (Partnership Support for Quality Education)

The Brigada Eskwela Program is one of the most important programs in DepEd. In
the spirit of “bayanihan”, private institutions/individuals, government agencies, local
government units, and other organizations contribute to DepEd campaign to ensure
accessible and quality basic education.

In this context, the proponent decided to extended the spirit of “bayanihan” for the
continuous cleanliness and maintenance of the school especially that there are no students
who are coming to school. Since that parents are coming to school to get the module, they
will be asked to do some repair, cleaning, installation and other activities needed in the
classroom following the health protocols given by the IATF and DOH. This project supports
the DOH as well as the IATF in maintaining cleanliness in school since parents and teachers
are using the school facilities. In doing so, the health of every employee is being secured.
Other agencies like Kabalikat Civicom, Kabalikat Bicol, Kabalikat Charity, PGBI, Alpha
Kappa Rho, TAU Gamma Phi, PGBI and other volunteers will be tapped also in this project.

VI. OBJECTIVES
This project aims to:
A. continue the shared responsibility of the parents, stakeholders and the school.
B. Maintain the school cleanliness
C. Improve school ground, classroom front yard and back yard.
 VII. PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND MECHANICS

The Brigada Eskwela Plus shall be conducted in public schools nationwide in phases.
Consistent with the Brigada Eskwela Program, the Brigada Eskwela Plus is geared towards
increasing learners’ participation rate, reducing dropouts, helping improve learning for both
the learners and their community, and creating a network of community-based organizations
committed to supporting schools through collaborative programs and projects.

This PROJECT MASK or MAintaining School’s Kinematics is a project that seeks to

continue the school movements and operation even in this time of pandemic without
sacrificing the health protocols. The idea comes from Kinematics which is a subfield of
physics describing the motion of points, objects and systems of group of objects or geometry
of motion. Every school must continue moving forward even this pandemic is a great treat to
all of us. We must embody what the Department of Education upholds, “Sulong Edukalidad”.

With this, PROJECT MASK aims to continue the shared responsibility of the parents,
stakeholders and the school, to maintain the school cleanliness and to improve school
ground, classroom front yard and back yard. Every time that there is a release of module,
parents will be requested to do some repair, cleaning, installation and other activities needed
in the classroom following the health protocols given by the IATAF and DOH. Other
agencies like Kabalikat Civicom, Kabalikat Bicol, Kabalikat Charity, PGBI, Alpha Kappa
Rho, TAU Gamma Phi, PGBI and other volunteers will be tapped also in this project.
