1. True, I could find it in the first paragraph , third sentence. The writer says that “With her
husband, Pierre Curie, and Henri Becquerel, she was awarded the 1903 Nobel Prize for Physics,
and was then sole winner of the 1911 Nobel Prize for Chemistry”At first I thought that it was false,
but as soon as I see the word “sole winner” I decided to change my answer. It means that Maria
won the 1911 Nobel Prize for Chemistry alone.( Maria Curie only shared her first Nobel Prize with
her husband, Pierre Curie and Henri Becquerel in 1903 )

2. Not given, well in the second paragraph I can find some information about Marie Curie’s
childhood.I can see that there are lot of explanation about her.But there is no information about her
interest in science.

3. True,I could find it in the second paragraph last sentence which tell me “from her earnings she
was able to finance her sister Bronia’s medical studies in Paris, on the understanding that Bronia
would, in turn, later help her to get an education”.After that followed by reading the third
paragraph first sentence which say “In 1891, this promise was fulfilled and Marie went to Paris
and began to study at the Sorbonne ( the University of Paris )”.Well, by looking both of those
sentence I mention, I can see that there is some sort of connection. So in conclusion, Marie hope
that in return, her sister would help her to get an education later, and in 1891 his sister fulfilled
Marie hope and finally Marie began to study at the Sorbonne.
