As you can see, the chart shows us the different types of transportation that are chosen to
go to work and return from work in one European city. We can see that in 1960, most people use
the bus and the subway to go to work and return from work rather than using a car or a train. The
percentage of the users that are using the bus are 40 %, the subway is around 30 %, the train are 20 % and
the car are 10 %. I think that It is pretty obvious why people more likely to choose bus and the subway,
because in 1960 there are not many train and cars are really expensive.

There isn’t much different in the year 1980, the number of people who took the car and
the train increases. And the number of people who took the bus and subway slightly decrease.
We can see that in 1980, most people use the bus and the train to go to work and return from
work rather than using the car or the subway. The percentage of the users that are using the bus
are 38 %, the car is 22 %, the subway is around 20 % and the train are 38 %. During the year of
1980, there is a small improvement on technology that causes the car become more efficient to
use.

But in 2000, I can see that there is a huge difference if it is compared with 1960 and 1980
because most people use the car rather than using the other transport. The percentage of the users
that are using the bus are 15 %, the car is 38 %, the subway is 24 % and the train is around 20 %.
The number of people who took the car greatly increase in 2000. Compared in 1960, the number
of people who took the bus greatly decrease. But the number people who took the train and the
subway seems stable. From time to time, I notice that there is some sort of new development and
upgrades on the cars and the trains. I think this is one of the reasons why the number of people
who took the car and the train keep increasing.
