Write 3 sentences about your personality.

How you are, how you are sometimes, and
how you never are. Give examples!
Let’s see my own examples…
I would say I’m pretty strong and
independent because I like making
decisions on my own, and I’m able
to support myself.
Sometimes I can be
shy and reserved
because I prefer
keeping my feelings
to myself, but I
speak out when I
think it’s necessary.
I would never
describe myself as
wild and crazy
because I’m more of
a homebody.
Send your sentences
through the Webex
chat, to everyone. I’ll
be waiting.

Socializing tool
Do you find yourself always saying “Me too!” when
you agree and “Me neither!” when you disagree?
Fear no more!

I agree with you I disagree with you

But when do we say those expressions?
Basically:
To agree or disagree with someone, you have to:
1. Notice if the statement is positive or negative.
2. Look for the verb and think of the auxiliary.
So/Neither + Auxiliary + Subject A lot of possibilities!
Agree Disagree
Another option to agree:
I am… So am I. I’m not. “I’m the same way”
I like/prefer/hate… So do I. Really? I don’t.
I am not… Neither am I. Oh, I am. Other options to disagree:
“That’s not true for me”
I don’t like/mind… Neither do I. I do.
“I’m not like that”
I can’t stand… Neither can I. I can.
Imagine a conversation between three friends…
A: I am very friendly and outgoing! I love meeting new people.
B: Oh, so am I! C: Mmm, I’m not like that.

A: I am always the life of the party!

B: I’m the same way! C: I’d say I’m more introverted…

B: Living in a tidy place is fantastic! I love organizing my room!

A: So do I! C: Really? I don’t.

B: I don’t mind talking in front of large groups of people.

A: Neither do I. C: Oh, I do. I’d get nervous.
Pair work!
1. I’ll set you in pairs. Ask each other the question
“How would you describe yourself?”
2. Use the vocabulary to answer the question, and the
Useful Expressions to agree or disagree.
3. Write 3 statements about your partner.
Vocabulary + Example + Agree/Disagree.
EXAMPLE: “(Partner’s name) is friendly
and outgoing. She/he likes going to
parties, but I’m not like that.”
EXAMPLE: “(Partner’s name) is neat and
tidy, and so am I. Both of us like to be
organized always.”
That’s all for today, folks!
