Abstract
• The primary aim of the project is to design, develop and implement Automatic Wall
Painting Robot which helps to achieve low cost painting equipment.

• When construction workers and robots are properly integrated in building tasks, the whole
construction process can be better managed and savings in human labor and timing are
obtained as a consequence.

• In addition, it would offer the opportunity to reduce or eliminate human exposure to


difficult and hazardous environments, which would solve most of the problems connected
with safety when many activities occur at the same time.

Arduino Uno
• The Arduino Uno is an open-source
microcontroller board based on the
used as a designing board.

• The board is equipped with sets of


digital and analog input/output pins that
may be interfaced to various expansion
boards and other circuits.

• Arduino Uno has 14 digital


input/output pins (out of which 6 can
be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog
input pins, a USB connection, A Power
barrel jack, an ICSP header and a reset
button.
Power Supply Unit

• The primary function of a power supply


is to convert electric current from a
source to the correct voltage, current,
and frequency to power the load.

• A DC power supply is one that supplies


a constant DC voltage to its load.

• Input Voltage is 12V.


Bluetooth Module : HC.05

• HC-05 module is an easy to use


Bluetooth SPP (Serial Port Protocol)
module, designed for transparent
wireless serial connection setup.

• Serial port Bluetooth module is fully


qualified Bluetooth V2. 0+EDR
(Enhanced Data Rate) 3Mbps
Modulation with complete 2.4GHz
radio transceiver and baseband.
Motor Drivers : L293D

• L293D is basically a high current dual


motor driver/controller Integrated
Circuit (IC).

• It is able to drive load having current


up to 1A at the voltage ranging from
4.5V to 36V.

• Motor driver usually act as current


amplifier because they receive a low
current signal as an input and provides
high current signal at the output.
Motors and Sub-motors

• In this project ,we implement two kinds


of motors. One is a Servo Motor (sub-
Motor) and other is Brushless DC
motor.

• servo motor is an electrical device


used to rotate and push the Spray
painter at some specific angles or
distance.

• Typical brushless DC motors use one or


more permanent magnets in the rotor
and electromagnets on the motor
housing for the stator .Used to control
motion of Platform wheels.
Linear Actuator

• An actuator is a kind of motor used to


move or control a mechanism. It can
use pressure from a hydraulic
component.

• Its goal is to convert that energy into


the motion the system requires to do its
work.

• These are most commonly seen in the


form of a linear device driven by a
rotary servo motor.
Relay

• Relay is an electromechanical switch


which uses electromagnetism from
small current or voltage to switch
higher current or voltage for different
appliances.

• When a relay is in Normally Open


(NO) contact, there is actually an open
circuit until the relay is energized.
Spray Gun with Compressor

• Spray guns evolved from airbrushes,


and the two are usually distinguished
by their size and the size of the spray
pattern they produce.

• It is typically used for covering large


surfaces with an even coating of
liquid. .

• Single color aerosol paint cans are


portable and easy to store.

Arduino IDE

An Open-source Software to code the


working commands and upload it on the
Arduino Board.
Proteus Software

The Proteus Design Suite is used to create


schematics and electronic prints for
designing Printed Circuit Boards(PCBs).
Input and Output
• Input:
Voice/Text command on the Mobile phone that is communicated to the
Arduino board through the Bluetooth module.

• Output:
Movement in the robot’s arm as per direction of the command and
proceeding to paint.
Basic Working Principle:
• Set the distance of wall in control unit of the robot with Keypad interface.

• Initially the robot start from right then up down tower mechanism is active and
the sprayer unit move up and down with air pressure through nozzle to clean the
wall.

• Then load the sprayer fill with paint and activate robot from right side then
sprayer section moves to left till distance reached and after a unit up movement
and robot move to right and the process repeats.

• The distance moved by robot is measured using IR sensor connected on the


Wheel of the Robot.

Results
Advantages
• This project implements Automatic Wall Painting Robot which helps to achieve low
cost painting equipment.

• Automatic Wall Painting robot hinders risk of hazards to the human painters such as
eye and respiratory system problems. to the workers.

• The nature of painting procedure that requires repeated work and hand rising makes
it boring, time and effort consuming can now be changed and given a new strategy.

• When construction workers and robots are properly integrated in building tasks, the
whole construction process can be better managed and savings in human labor and
timing are obtained as a consequence.
Applications
• The automatic painting robot is useful in applying the first coat of paint on the wall
(primer) where uniformity is not the main constraint.

• In its present form, it can also be used on the sides of production lines in industry for
spray-painting an object or car from top to bottom with no change in hardware.

• A distinct but possible application can be to water the plants.The paint in the
container will then have to be replaced with water.

• It can be used as a smart sprinkler in agriculture.


Future Scope
• Using multiplexers to reduce the number of Arduino’s in the circuit.

• Utilize a liquid level sensor to halt the operation when the paint runs out and a
pressure sensor on the nozzle to alert if the nozzle is blocked by previous dry paint.

• Exploit external mix nozzles instead of a spray gun.

• Employing Omni-wheels.
Conclusion
• The prototype was designed for the purpose of automating the interior walls
painting process, making it easier and more efficient.

• This design is simple in nature and relatively easy to implement in comparison


with the reminder of interior wall painting robots.

• Adding to that, the stability of its structure, and the fact that it can be built
using any other material, judging by its availability, affordability and in
accordance to the needed specifications.

• A full-scale interior wall painting robot based on this prototype would be


beneficial to the construction field corporations, granting these corporations
the ability to provide painting services.
