William Shakespeare

He was a English poet, playwright, and actor born in 1564 in


Stratford-upon-Avon. His date of birth is unknown but most scholars
believe that he was born on 23 April, which is also believed to be the
date he died in 1616.he most likely attended .ocal grammar school,
but he didn't go to university. When he was eighteen, Shakespeare
married Anne Hathaway, who was twenty-six. It was a rushed
marriage because Anne was already pregnant at the time. Together
they had three children. Their first daughter, Susanna, was born six
months after the wedding and was later followed by twins Hamnet
and Judith. Hamnet died when he was just 11 years old. By 1590 he
started to write in London, but he also started his acting career. By
1597 he authored 15 of his 37 plays including Romeo and Juliet. In
1599 he build the largest open-air theatre in London. The types of
Shakespeares plays are histories, comedies, tragedies and
tragiccomedies. His plays are for example Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet,
Macbeth, Midsummer Night's Dream, King Lear, Othello and Twelfth
Night. And he also wrote 164 sonetsm and two narrative poems.

Romeo and Juliet

The story describes the tragic fate of young lovers Romeo and Juliet,
who come from the hostile families of the Montagues and Capulets.
Friar Laurence secretly marries Romeo and Juliet, but their happiness
did not last long. Romeo goes to celebrate his marriage with his
friends, Mercutio and Benvolio, but gets into a fight with Juliet's
cousin, Tybalt. Tybalt kills Mercutio and Romeo avenges his death by
killing Tybalt.The Prince banishes Romeo because he killed Tybalt
Juliet fakes her death and lies in a tomb waiting for Romeo to come
so they can run away together. Romeo doesn't receive the message
about the plan, so thinks Juliet has actually died. He goes to Verona
and sees Juliet in her tomb, 'dead'.
Romeo drinks poison so he can be with Juliet. She wakes up to
discover Romeo is dead. Juliet kills herself with his dagger.
