NiralOS MPLS VPN Router Software Components

MPLS VPN Router forwards user plane and control plane traffic from the access (4G/5G RAN,
Residential, Enterprise) towards the Core network. Router software supports IPv4, IPv6, MPLS,
VPLS, VLAN, EVPN, 6PE, 6VPE, Traffic Engineering, Segment Routing features. Router
connects to SDN Controller, PCEP server on the Northbound using Netconf, PCEP protocol.
NiralOS disaggregated router software has been integrated to Broadcom and NXP based White
box HW. NiralOS disaggregated router software also works x86 Server with DPDK, Virtual
machine and FPGA based White box. NiralOS can be integrated to any White box HW based
on performance and scalability requirement starting from 10 Gbps to 800 Gbps.
The router software can be integrated to optical transponder to provide long distance
transmission of 100km over OTN transport.

NiralOS Front haul Gateway Software Components

FHG provides vendor agnostic front haul transport using an Open White Box Platform that
meets the low latency requirements for front haul traffic. FHG eliminates many of the challenges
in deploying a Cloud RAN/O-RAN architecture by providing the ability to packetize and
aggregate mobile front haul traffic over a common physical Ethernet interface that is easily
switchable, as well as, being less expensive than alternative solutions such as Dense
Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), for example.
NiralOS Router Software is integrated with RAN PHY processing unit to convert from optical to
Ethernet frames. The Ethernet frames can be transmitted over a Packet Network to reach DU or
BBU for L2/L3 processing using MPLS/IP forwarding. The RAN PHY processing is done using
FPGA or custom ASIC.
The Front haul Gateway is placed before the Cell Site Routers and supports Time-sensitive
Networking (TSN). PHY processing supports Option 8 and Option 7.2/7.2x split, and take care
of 3G, 4G and 5G traffic.

White box Hardware

NiralOS Disaggregated Routing Software can be integrated with any White box hardware using
Broadcom, NXP, Intel. Few of the OCP (Open Compute Project) accepted white box when

DC Router carries intra or inter data center traffic using IPv4, IPv6, VXLAN, EVPN, MPLS,
VPLS, VLAN forwarding. Router connects to SDN Controller on the Northbound using Netconf,
protocol.
NiralOS disaggregated router software has been integrated to Broadcom based White box HW.
NiralOS also works x86 Server with DPDK and Virtual machine. NiralOS can be integrated to
any White box HW based on performance and scalability requirement of Data center starting
from 100 Gbps to 3.2 Tbps.

DPI, Traffic Shaping, Application Firewall Software Components

DPI inspects the traffic, does layer-7 classification and identifies the application/device used by
the user. It collects session level statistics, marks rating group of each session for a user that is
used for billing using CDR, network analytics and network planning.
Application level Firewall enforces policy on the user traffic configured using an SDN controller.
The policy can be block social media traffic/URL tag, divert traffic, collect PCAP for user traffic,
parental control.
Traffic management and enrichment of the user traffic is used for congestion management,
prioritization and shaping of user traffic in order to ensure network performance based on
network plan of each user.

White box Hardware

NiralOS Disaggregated Edge and Cloud Software can be integrated with any White box
hardware using Intel DPDK or Virtual Machine or Bare Metal. NiralOS is also integrated with
Broadcom, NXP based white box.
