Joshua Schulhoff is an amazing young man with many years of experience.

I have only known

Josh for three years but the experience and wisdom that he brings to Tucker High School is a
breath of fresh air. Josh is innovative in his approach to support the faculty and staff at Tucker
High School. Josh is engaging with the diversity of young people on the Tucker campus. His
initiative and well-rounded approach has brought a strength and new direction to Tucker.
Josh will be the first to step out and take a risk whether it be a new program or an innovative way
to make communication better among J.R. Tucker staff. He has established easy access for
faculty to be reminded of campus status through a common app. His proactive spirit is one that
brings control and stability. He is willing to troubleshoot and find the answers. Josh helped put in
place an all school pass system for our Academic Extension which allows movement for
hundreds of students at Tucker to be able to see teachers, remediate, attend club meetings and
work on projects and all be held accountable. During the COVID educational plan Josh has been
the communicator not only as the representative from our school to the COVID Task Force but
he has carefully implemented all regulations prior to students arriving on campus and even
reinforcing while students and teachers have been back to in person learning. Josh has also
assisted with the Wellness Wednesday Advisory lessons for students, which include school
spirit, diversity, respect and empathy for others. These lessons are carefully planned for the
entire school to engage in dialog on subjects that bring a balanced approach to high school
student life.
Josh has always been a linguistic advocate for the World Language teachers on the Tucker
campus. Without reservation he passes along innovative tools for the world language classroom
and is quick to add aid to the concerns teachers may have about language acquisition,
scaffolding, transition and assessments. Josh brings his direct instruction from the French
classroom to us as a resource.
Josh has willingly led Professional Development sessions for the Center for Spanish Language
and Global Citizenship program located at Tucker High School. We consider Josh an accessible
resource with relevant and effective resources to help our students learn the language. He
modeled 21st century technology ideas that can be used to motivate student learning and
engagement from the beginning level of language learning to Advanced Placement level.
Josh is easily approachable for any concern on campus whether it references language,
administrative or professionalism. With the many life experiences Josh has, he can certainly be
helpful in giving advice and guidance. I consider him a trusted source and one who is easy to
follow. His transparency is evident when he encounters a challenge with determination and
commitment to find the solution.
Josh is very technology savvy and is innovative in his approach to virtual learning. His strength
is listening and finding an answer. He spends time and energy to make technology easily
accessible for faculty even when the circumstances seem overwhelming.

I would highly recommend Josh Schulhoff to the position as Principal of the Virtual School in
Henrico County Public Schools.

Respectfully submitted,
