Title1: ONLINE CLEARANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Statement of the problem

This clearance processing system service currently uses manual system which creates the
following major problems.

o Data recording system is not centralized or not in the modern system which is difficult to
search.
o It creates wastages of material & time.
o Data redundancy & loss of data.
o Consumes more resources to complete the process which is of high cost.
o Employees involved in the clearance process are not available 24 hours of the day.
o The process is very offensive for students when there is a harsh atmosphere like rain

Hence, it became imperative for computer software based online clearance system to
eliminate above listed problem.

General Objectives

The main objective of this project is to change the manual clearance processing system to
web based system and solve the above stated problems.

Specific Objectives

The specific objective of this project includes:

 Fast data processing.

 To avoid the problems and stress of travelling and queuing up of student during clearance
 Efficient use of time.
 To develop reliable clearance system.
 To provide borderless access.
 To ensure prompt clearance.
 To develop transparent clearance system.
 To avoid redundancy, and inconsistency.
 To develop effective and efficient clearance system.
 To overcome problem of wastage of resources like pen, paper and human power.
Functional requirement

Functional requirement of this a system and its components are listed below.

Performance requirements: It is all time ready to perform all the functions, faster response time
and use minimal space usage.
Process requirements: - The system performs the services for all inputs by functional
components of the system based on the given inputs.

Input related requirements: to perform a process it needs inputs like student username, student
ID No and other information which are necessary to in processing clearance are entered.

Output related requirements: The system should produce an output based on the given input.

Storage related requirements: The system developed by using MySQL database server which
used to store all the students information.

Tools to be used: the design and implementation will be carried out using PHP and MYSQL for
data base.

Title2: ONLINE TEACHING AND LEARNING SUPPORT SYSTEM

Statement of the problem

The statements of problems are the problems with the manual system. Some these problems are:-

 Instructors may not be available at the time when the student is convenient.
 There is high cost to buy copy machines, printers, papers for hard copy as well as
payment for duplicators and invigilators.
 All important resource prepared on hardcopy is difficult.
 No more exercise for student.
 Wastage of time to print and to wait for copying in duplicate office.
 High human power wastage.
This project implements changing manual system giving process into intranet based system.

General Objectives

The general objective is to develop computerized AUWC Teaching and Learning Support
system.

Specific Objectives

The specific objectives of the project are:

o To add courses, student class and department in to a database.
o To update exercise and question.
o To create account for instructor or student.
o To check or uncheck a question or exercise.
o To upload a file/materials.
Functional requirement
In this system the functional requirements specified are:

 Add exercise or exercise: The system should able to store the exercise into the database
and the student can take it when needed.
 Add student and instructor: The system helps administrator to add user.
 Delete student and instructor: The system helps the administrator to delete user.
 Uploads of resources: The system helps instructor to upload any necessary files
and documents that are usable for education purpose only.
 Downloads of resources: The students can download any documents that are uploaded
by the instructors.
 Add course: the admin can add course when it necessary.
 Give comment: The system helps the students to comment on the system.

Tools to be used: the design and implementation will be carried out using PHP and MYSQL for
data base.

Title3: WEB BASED DISTANCE EDUCATION SYSTEM

Statement of the problem

There is no web-based distance education system in AUWC. Employees also facing a lot of
problems with the existing manual system. Some of these problems are:

 The basic problem of continuing and distance education is lack of

student’s satisfaction.
 Distributing materials for students is another problem.
 Students don’t have the opportunity to get updated information on time
 The students must come in each semester, starting from first year up to
graduating to be registered, to take tutorial and reading materials and this
takes time and cost.
General Objectives

The general objective of this project is to develop interactive web-based system in order to
overcome the problems some subsystems with the existing system.

Specific Objectives

 To minimize work complexity of the existing system

 To minimize cost of copying or duplicating materials
 To reduce wastage of time to submit assignments
 To enable new applicants online applying

Functional requirement
  Login into the system: authorized user can login the system.
 Manage user’s account: including creating and updating.
 Uploading modules and assignments: enable an administrator upload module and
assignment questions as well as download assignment answers submitted by
students.
 Downloading modules and assignments: enable student to download module and
download assignment questions.
 Post updated information: for students such information is, registration date,
changed policies in the distance education etc.

Tools to be used: the design and implementation will be carried out using PHP and MYSQL for
data base.
