and academic, and I have continued developing my skills by implementing extensive research in
the field of social science and human geography.
My PhD study included measuring indicators of social science in relation to environmental
planning with inclusion of beneficiary community groups to develop policies. The study variable
‘community participation’ in Sydney Metropolitan Strategy was measured through: process,
outcomes and engagement of stakeholders. In addition to the above, I have considerable
experience in participatory research using both qualitative and quantitative methods in the said
fields, and published several articles in peer reviewed journals.

2. Demonstrated ability to teach diverse subjects in the sociology and SRAP

leading university in Bangladesh. I have experience in teaching, assessment and course planning

student’s time and availability, fortnightly meeting on their progress, responding to their e-mail
within short time. I was used to assist them in planning the progress for the whole year in
advance however there was flexibility to accommodate obstacles. The way I supervised and
facilitated research students / interns was always appreciated by my students and the university.

For my improvements, I have done self- assessment on my capability in capacity building by

comparing their (the supervisee) knowledge and skills before starting supervising them and after
they finished.

attendance taking in moodle.

I also have experience of online teaching, though not in blended mode. I used to supervise
research students of University of Dhaka while I was in Sydney on maternity leave. I used to
provide them feedback through email and interact with them through skype. To increase
efficiency at first I used to divide the topic of discussion in small parts. Then discuss the topic
one by one, sometimes to small group of students or sometimes one to one. At the end, I used
quiz or small questions to check whether students are on right track.

I also received online supervision in my PhD from my primary supervisor while he used to be in
