1. Summary
When M58 is used for Printlink5-IN, a problem in which M58 is not turned ON by
turning ON Drypro873 when ‘PW Control from Main Unit’ is set has been reported
and our investigation found that the factory default setting of PME(Power
Management Event) for network Adapter on M58 was set to ‘Disabled’.
We would like you to check that the PME setting for network adapter is set to
‘Enabled’ and if it was set to ‘Disabled’, please change to ‘Enabled’ upon setting up
M58 referring to the procedure as mentioned below.

2. Procedure for changing the setting


Please refer to ‘Procedure for changing the network adapter setting’ described in
attached sheet 1 to 3 ‘

Procedure for changing the network adapter setting

1. Please turn ON Drypr873 and Pritnlink5-IN (M58) with LAN cable connected.
* ‘Remote Power Control’ may not function if LAN cable is connected after turning
ON. In such a situation please reboot Pritnlink5-IN and Drypro873 with LAN
cable connected.

2. From ‘Control Panel’ of Windows XP please click on ‘Performance and


Maintenance’ -> ‘System’ to open ‘System Properties’ screen.

3. On the ‘System Properties’ screen please click on ‘Hardware’ tab -> ‘Device
Manager’ button to open ‘Device Manager’ screen.

4. Clicking on ‘+’ of ‘Network Adapter’ on the ‘Device Manger’ screen will display
‘Intel(R) 82567LM-3 Gigabit Network Connection’. Please double click on it.

5. ‘Intel(R) 82567LM-3 Gigabit Network Connection Property’ screen will be displayed.


Please click on ‘Advanced’ tag.

6. Click on ’Enable PME’ under Property and select ‘Enabled’ from the list box under
Value and then click on ‘OK’ button.
