#GLAADawards winners
who are changing
cultures, including fan
favorites #Aristemo
One of the best things about
working at GLAAD is getting to
celebrate the smart, funny,
moving AND LGBTQ-inclusive
stories we are seeing—in
English and en Español. Over
the years, I have seen LGBTQ
representation slowly increase
—and sometimes,
unfortunately, decrease again
the next year. We have a lot
more to do, and the work goes
on!

Today we celebrate the steps

forward, like the existence of a
scripted show or novela from
Mexico centered around two
young men in love: El Corazón
Nunca Se Equivoca which won
the GLAAD Media Award for
Outstanding Scripted Television
Series at the GLAAD Media
Awards July 30.

español: GLAAD Media
Award nominated
couples like Juliantina,
Aristemo and more!
One of the best things about
working at GLAAD is getting to
celebrate the smart, funny,
moving AND LGBTQ-inclusive
stories we are seeing—in
English and en Español. Sadly,
this year, because of the
worldwide health crisis, we are
not able to announce award
recipients as scheduled during
the GLAAD Media Awards
ceremonies. We will be
announcing how award
recipients will be announced
soon. But right now we can
enjoy many of the great shows
and !lms and journalistic pieces
nominated for awards. With so
many of us spending evenings
(and days) at home, this may be
the perfect time to catch up on
TV shows and movies and
journalism you may have
missed.

Novela about a young

gay couple premieres
tonight on Univision
We couldn’t be more excited for
fans of Aristemo, the couple
who are two of the lead
characters of El Corazón Nunca
Se Equivoca on Univision. Fans
of Aris (Emilio Osorio) and Temo
(Joaquín Bondoni) have been
rooting for their love story to
continue since the couple
appeared on Mi Marido Tiene
Más Familia on Univision last
year. That novela won a GLAAD
Media Award, tying with Élite on
Net"ix.

massive political crisis in part

communications that were
recently made public.
Impassioned messages for
political change resounded from
the Premios Juventud stage
Thursday night.

LGBTQ Latinx folks have had a

few things to watch as of late, in
both English and Spanish,
including several segments for
Pride month, including one on
the history of Stonewall and
pro!les of LGBTQ Latinx leaders
on the popular morning show
Despierta América, by reporter
Luis Sandoval. Two gay
contestants were part of
Telemundo’s MasterChef Latino
cast – Dennis Escalante and
Javier Seañez. You can catch the
show on Sunday or at
Telemundo.com. On the show,
both chefs shared their
experiences as gay men.
