TITLE OF THE JOURNAL : FIRST WEEK

CATEGORY : INTERPERSONAL AND INTRAPERSONAL

1. FOCUSED ISSUE

During this week, I had starting my practicum which is in SK Kampung Tengah in Manir. The
school is one of the largest schools in Terengganu. I was so shocked to learn the teachers
alone are 80 people. The issue focused here is how I adapt to my surrounding. On the first
day, I had countered few problems. One of it is the administration were unaware of our
presence. They initially thought that they will be only 2 teacher trainees will come.

2. ANALYSIS

The reason of the confusion is due to the name list of the practicum students' got jumbled
up in other papers. Once the paper had found, the administrative need to assign our mentor
and also sort the related documents. This leads to confusion among the English teachers
and prolonged time for us to settle down. Thus, during the first week I also did not enough
time to meet other teachers.

3. PAST RESEARCH (LITERATURE REVIEW) TOWARD ISSUE

According Nor Azzah Momin (2016), our co-workers also affect our works.

4. SUGGESTION FOR IMPROVEMENTS

The problem however had been solved efficiently by the adminstration. We had confirmed
our mentor on the second day of our practicum. This problem could have been avoided if I
had taken preventive steps first such as call the school first to confirm about my practicum.

5. PERIOD OF TIME TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE

2 days.

6. FOLLOW UP ACTIONS
 The next follow up action I should do is to meet and greet other teachers in the following
weeks. This is very important in order to avoid from giving bad impression and also to learn
from other teachers too.

8. EFFECTIVENESS OF THE PLANNED ACTION

The action taken to solve the problem is very effective. The teachers were aware of the
problem rose and they warmly welcomed me.

9. CONCLUSION

In conclusion, the problem can be solved without much hassle. The teachers were very kind
and understanding.
