LIFE SAVER

Life saver system is a web application developed for blood donations. This consists of
two set of users, Administrators and Blood Donors. Administrator login is created for chief
doctors in major hospitals which run this web application. Blood Donors who are willing to
donate blood have to register in the system. While registering the donors are requested to give
the details such as Blood Group, Available days when the user can donate blood, Location, etc.

When blood is needed for a person, then the corresponding administrator should add the
details of the patient such as, Patient name, Blood group, Location of the hospital, etc. The
system will automatically analyze the list of donors who can donate blood for a particular
patient. Then the system compares the location of the person and the hospital where the patient is
admitted. Then the system compares the day of blood needed and the day’s availability of the
donor. Finally for the qualified donors SMS will be sent to the mobile and a mail will be
dispatched to the donor login page of the system. If the donor is interested in donating blood then
he can login to the system to see the full details.

Several donors may be interested in donating blood and it may create confusions. So,
once a donor reaches a hospital for blood donation. It should be updated in the system. Then the
system will automatically send SMS to all the remaining donors that their need is fulfilled.

Existing System

 Blood bank took all the details in notebook.

 Search the donor information was very late and not correctly.
 Sometimes the records are missing for some reason atn that time not possible to retrieve
the records.
Proposed system

 Insert the data to Computer was very easy to compare manual written.
 The people in need of blood can search for Blood Stock by blood group.
 It is very flexible and user friendly.
 MsSQL database is used to support multiple users in concurrent fashion.
 Easy and helpful for blood bank searching.

MODULES:

The system after careful analysis has been identified to be presented with the following modules:

Donor Module :

Donor goes through a registration process, his profile details are stored for giving information
to the recipients such as Name, Address, Mobile no, Mail id, Blood Group, Last Donated Date.

Recipient Module :

In this Module, Blood recipient can place a request with required blood units .The information
from recipient are stored same database. It is also used for Future Reference.

Search Module:

Administrator can search donor details of particular blood group and also check the details of
lastly donated date and then send the request to donors who have same blood group through
mails and SMS. Administrator can resend notification mail and SMS to donors after receiving
blood.

Blood Donation Module:

This module consists details of donors, recipient, date and time. The donation details are stored
in database and used to retrieve the donor details to check the lastly donated date.
