CLIENTS PROFILE
Talia Nedi is a 25-year-old young lady. She lives an active lifestyle and she is always
running around during the day since she is a makeup artist She is currently using dove soap when cleansing her face
only in the morning. In terms of diet she tries to incorporate fruits and vegetables in her meals mostly fruits where she
likes grapes and pineapples mostly she drinks 500ml of water a day and she sleeps 6 to 7 hours per day so she came
today for this treatment just to learn on how to take care of her skin when she is at home.

Treatment Plan

 Eyebrow and eyelash tinting to give volume and to elongate using planet black tint and brown tint
 Eyebrow shaping using a tweezer to neaten the eyebrows

 Deep cleanse I’m going to steam for about 5 to 10 minutes to open pores for better penetration of products
and soften the dead skin cells.

 I plan to do Vacuum suction as a method of deep cleansing my client skin as well as to give nourishment
since the skin is dehydrated.

 I will do indirect high frequency as a relaxing treatment and improve blood circulation my medium will be
the dermalogica massage cream which is a light weight on the skin and improves blood circulation hence
improving skin tone and relieve tension

 I will do my last machine doing faradic treatment which will be a toning treatment

 Mask using kaolin and magnesium carbonate activate with orange flower water which deep cleanses to be
applied on the rest of the face and I will add 2 drops of almond oil to give moisture on the dehydration. On
the neck and décolleté I applied dermalogica colloidal masque which hydrates the and refreshes the skin
and on the eyes I applied eye gel mask which reduces dark circles and refreshes as well, on the lips I
applied petroleum jelly to seal the lips so moisture does not escape.

 Toner I then tone the skin using dermalogica toner which has a cooling effect

 Moisturise I then finished off by using active moist which minimise the appearance of fine lines and
provides effective hydration.

Treatment Details:
Superficial cleanse
I cleaned my working place and put my products in the trolley making sure everything is clean I welcomed my
client I Introduced myself and briefly explained to the client all the treatment procedure I’m going to take and
went through the consultation form and found out that there are no contraindications then I showed my client
how to get on the bed then I proceed.

Applied dermalogica soothing eye makeup remover which contains silk amino acids which helps to strengthen
eyelashes and citric acid then I went on applying the 1 st superficial cleanse where I used dermalogica pre
cleanser which melts away makeup and oil and it contains Apricot kernel oil, Vitamin E
caprylic triglyceride and kennel oils which lifts up excess oils and dirt on the skin leaving the skin nourished and
lastly the special cleansing gel which thoroughly melts away impurities without disturbing the skin moisture
balance it contains Quilaja saponaria and lavender which helps in reducing acne and restore skin complexion

Eyelash and eyebrow tinting as well as shaping

And moved on to eyelash and eyebrow tinting where I used black on eyelashes to add volume and to lengthen
them I started by applying petroleum jelly around the eyes and put on a dry eye shields which protects the
clients skin from getting tinted I then mix 1cm of black tint and 2 drops of hydrogen peroxide which acts as a
catalysts then mix with an applicator I started applying making sure the lashes are well tinted then closed the
eye with a dry cotton pad so that the tint won’t be absorbed by a wet cotton pad making sure my clients eyes are
closed and brown tint on eyebrow where I also put 1cm of brown tint which is not harsh on eyebrows and 2
drops of hydrogen peroxide and mixed it again using an applicator then I started applying towards hair growth
and against hair
growth making sure the hairs are evenly tinted then I cleaned starting from the 1 st eyebrow I applied the tint and
on the other one then the eyelashes where I removed holding together the dry cotton pad and the eye shied and
quickly cleaned the eyes with wet cotton wool making sure my clients is comfortable and not feeling any irritation
from the tint then she opened the eyes and put eye drop which calms the eyes.

Vacuum suction
From my main objective and according to my client skin type I going to do vacuum suction to deep cleanse the skin as
well to nourish the skin since its dehydrated.
The unit consists of a vacuum pump that is powered by electricity and does not introduce any current
into the body, a ventouse and plastic tubing that connects the two together. The switch controls the
amount of pressure applied on the skin. The skin and subcutaneous tissue is sucked upwards and this
is called negative pressure. The machine will also have on and off switch and most units have a
second outlet, which blows out air and is used to spray various preparations. The ventouse area
available in small to medium and are used for general drainage of the face and neck.

Before my treatment I took some pre caution to make sure the treatment goes well. I checked if the
machine is in good working condition and loose wires around the machine. I explained the treatment
to my client. I made sure the ventouse was not cracked to avoid cutting my client. I made sure the
ventouse was clean to avoid cross infection. I tested the suction on my wrist to make sure it’s not
more than 20%.

I started my treatment by doing thermal test I took two test tube one with hot water and the other
with cold water. I placed them on my client skin. I found out her skin sensation is good.

I went on doing deep cleansing the whole face to hydrate the skin and remove dead skin cells. I did
gliding strokes 6 to 8 times per area. I sucked not more than 20% of the skin. I placed the ventouse on
the decollate draining to the nearest lymph node which is supra clavicular lymph node. I went on the
neck then did the all face draining to sub mandibular I did my treatment for 15 minutes using light
pressure, and making sure my client is comfortable.

The effects and benefits of this treatment on Talia were her skin was added with more levels of
moisture and it was hydrated. It improves Talia lymph circulation as well as blood flow due to this
treatment. Since dead skin is reduced, there will be great improvement in the skin texture and
hyperpigmentation was made less obvious, the skin was glowing after this treatment. The fine lines of
dehydration were reduced as the moisture levels were added and her skin was hydrated. After the
treatment I used damp sponges to remove excess oil from the skin. I removed the cable from the
ventouse. I cleaned the ventouse with soapy water. I processed with my next treatment.

lontophoresis

This is forcing of a theurapeutic gel into the skin to firm /hydrate the skin. My main objective on my clients
skin was to firm up the tissues with this treatment since I noticed a bit of sagging skin and also to hydrate
the skin ,It is summer its hot so we tend to lose a lot of water in the body so I decided to also add moisture
on her skin with Iontophoresis It uses constant direct current .It is ideal for all skin types .It uses a positive
polarity and the positive gel .When the gel gets into the skin there is hydration ,firming ,vasoconstriction
,constriction of pores .Skin will be left acidic which is the normal Ph of the skin. Before I proceeded with this
treatment I made sure that I eliminated all contraindications to avoid electrocuting the client and to ensure
that my client was comfortable at all times. When using this machine once you start rolling the electrodes
you don’t lift the electrode because you will electrocute the client. I also carried out a tactile and thermal
test to make sure that the clients sense of feeling was active .With this machine I made sure that the dials
did not exceed 0,2 amps so as not to burn the client. There are contraindications to this machine which are
Diabetes ,some of the diabetic clients have lost their skins sensation and they might burn and they do not
heal easily ,epilepsy ,because this treatment introduces an electric current into the body this treatment
might trigger a seizure and open wounds just to mention a few ,current will flow directly into the wound and
this would be very uncomfortable for the client

Faradism

From my main objective since Talias skin is still young I decided to tone up her muscles. This
treatment will prevent her skin from ageing. The faradic is a passive form of exercise using faradic
current to produce a contraction on face to muscles which are no longer contracting muscles with no
effort on the client’s part. It also re-educates muscles to contract.

Before I did the treatment I took some precaution to make sure the treatment goes well. I prepared
my equipment making sure there are no loose hanging wires. The machine is in good working
condition and I checked for all contraindication and l didn’t find any that restrict me from giving her a
treatment. I explained the procedure to her that she will feel visible contraction and see visible
contraction. I asked Talia to lean forward a bit so that muscles adopt natural posture with gravity. l
then marked motor points on Talia’s face from sterno-cleido via diastole, zygomaticus, orbicularis oris
around the lips, orbicularis oculi around the eyes, corrugator on the eyebrows and frontalis on the
forehead. I applied conductive gel as an electrolyte. I applied gel prior to contraction each motor
point. I applied electrode on each motor point and I did 6 to 8 times per contraction before moving to
the next motor point. How I moved to the next motor point, I moved when the pulse was relaxing.
The faradic is a passive exercise that muscles contract by passing an electrical current through them
without much effort of Talia. The current causes the muscles to contract in the stimulation period and
relax in the stimulation interval to prevent muscle fatigue.

The effects of this treatment on Talia skin type muscular contraction improve the tone of the muscle.
Muscle is educated and muscles are firmed up as the face is more defined. Blood supply to muscle
increase therefore improving the functioning of muscle fibres. It speeds up the body metabolism,
improving muscle condition. Talia sensory nerve ending are initially stimulated producing a tingling
sensation at the time of treatment. It increases circulation It tones and tightens the muscles which
makes Talia look younger for longer

After 15 minutes of working I removed conductive gel with damp sponges and warm water.

Mask therapy

Then put the mask where I used kaolin and magnesium carbonate which will deep cleanse and activate it
orange flower water which has a mild toning effect. I applied dermalogica colloidal masque base on the neck and
décolleté which contains cucumber which refreshes and hydrates the skin also applied it around the orbicularis
oculi then on the lips I applied glycerine in order to keep the lips hydrated.
I proceeded with toning using the Dermalogica Multi Active spray toner which contains cucumber and
balm mint which refreshes the skin then to moisturise the skin I used dermalogica skin smoothing
cream which contains silk amino acids and glycol which acts as an emollient which prevents water loss
from the skin promotes elasticity and improves skin texture, suppleness and tone.

Client feedback; I feel really amazing ,my skin is glowing

Aftercare/Home care advice given

 To cleanse tone and moisturise twice a day morning and evening
 To should drink adequate amount of water per day as she is currently taking 1 litre of water so she is
supposed to add starting with maybe 2 to 3 glasses until she reaches 2 litres or more which helps in
contributing to the skin type and prevents dehydration

 My client should continue eating fruits and vegetables in her meals which basically keeps her healthy
and also helps in archiving normal skin.

 I would also encourage my client to invests in a sunscreen to avoid damage from UV rays and
moisturiser which will keep your skin hydrated and booked to go and have a hair treatment as she was
worried also about her hair growth to the next salon.

 Then I rebooked my client for a full body massage in the next 2 days as today I only did ¼ of the work
and the effects of massage only last for about 24 to 48 hours.

Reflective practise:
To always maintain good posture and on time management as I was feeling some back pain due to bad posture

Overall Conclusion:
The best of my treatment was massaging as I was relieving the tension on my client’s muscles tissues
And also improving blood circulation
