longevity
studies
suggest that a
strong sense
of community
and a clearly
defined Ikigai
is just as
important as
the famously
healthful
Japanese diet – perhaps even more so.
According to the scientists who have studied the five Blue Zones, the keys to longevity
are diet, exercise, finding a purpose in life.
In Japanese, ikigai is written by combining the symbols that mean “life” with “to be
worthwhile.”Translates roughly as ‘the happiness of always being busy.'”

10 Rules of Ikigai
1) Whatever you do, stay active, don’t retire! - An active mind – youthful body. Never stop
learning.
A lot of sitting will age you. Walk to work, use your feet instead of elevator, participate
in social activities, replace your junk food with fruits, get the right amount of sleep, play
with children/pets, join a sports team; be conscious of your daily routine.
2) Take it slow (Live an unhurried life, slow down and relax). Don’t worry. Be optimistic.
3) Don’t fill your stomach. (Fill your belly up to 80%)
4) Surround yourself with good friends. Nurture your friendship everyday.
5) Get in shape for your next birthday.
6) Smile.
7) Reconnect with nature.
8) Give thanks.
9) Live in the moment.
10) Follow your ikigai.
How to face life’s challenges without letting stress and worry age you:
Resilience:An ability to preserve, an outlook to stay focused on the important things in life
rather than what is most urgent and to keep ourselves from being carried away by negative
emotions.
Beyond resilience: Antifragility
Antifragility is beyond resilience or robustness. The resilient resists shocks and stays the same,
the antifragile gets better.
