Year 8 Theatre Trailers & Production Research

Task 2 on PPT.
What makes the production look effective? Try to discuss at least two aspects.
Consider the following; acting, directing, choreography, costume, set, lighting and sound and
try to give specific examples.
Modelled example- I thought the choreography looked effective in Hamilton. For example,
there was a variety of movements both in canon and unison and a variation of formations too
which made it look exciting.

Task 5 on PPT.
  Now you must complete the task listed for your role below. You can do this on paper
if you prefer and upload pictures of it to teams or use a word document or create a
PPT document.
 Go to the relevant information for your chosen role and complete the activities.
 It will help to research the play in your chosen favourite trailer. Your might even be
able to watch some versions of the whole production online.

Actor
Choose a character from your production (trailer you chose) and carry out some research to
find out as much as you can about them.
Then use your imagination to create either a monologue, diary entry or facebook profile which
shows your ideas on what they are like. You could film and send me your monologue if you
wish.

Costume
Choose a character from your production and carry out some research to find out about them.
Design a costume for them. Describe why you decided on this costume-what does it tell the
audience about your character?

Set
Carry out some research on the key themes/ideas for the production you chose. Then, design a
set this could be on paper or 3D or using a computer software like Minecraft.
Consider why you made these decisions-what does it help to communicate about the play?

Lighting
Carry out some research on the key themes/ideas for the production you chose. Then, create
some lighting ideas , you may need to research the different effects that can be created with
different type of lighting equipment. Please detail at least 3 ideas.

Music/sound
Carry out some research on the key themes/ideas for the production you chose. Then, create a
soundtrack for your production and /or sound effects.
If you chose Hamilton you must consider sound effects as it already has a set soundtrack.
Consider why you made these decisions-what does it help to communicate about the play or
what atmosphere does it evoke.
