RE: Reference Letter for Mrs. Amy Sauers

To Whom It May Concern:

Amy Sauers completed the last part of her Professional Semester II and all of Professional
Semester III from the University of Lethbridge at Senator Gershaw School in the fall semester of
2020. While at Senator Gershaw Amy taught Grade 6, 7, and 11 Language Arts/English.

Amy completed these internships during a very challenging time in education, navigating a
pandemic that was new and proposed daunting challenges. Amy took these challenges in stride,
adjusted as needed, and very successfully completed her internship. Throughout Amy’s
Professional Semester she always treated students, parents, and staff respectfully and
professionally. Amy was a continuous and ambitious learner, taking professional development,
class critiques, and utilizing our Prairie Rose instructional coaches to continuously improve her
lessons. Amy also was a thorough and tenacious planner. Her long range, unit, and lesson plans
were meticulously laid out in detail that proved thorough thinking of the process in engaging
lessons. Within Amy’s planning she was also able to be flexible; adjusting to the students in her
classroom needs as well as adjusting activities to fit within the COVID-19 guidelines required.
Amy took the time to get to know students (in class and through extracurricular activities) and
was able to cultivate strong relationships with all students she worked with. These strong
relationships, along with numerous classroom procedures and engaging lessons for all students,
resulted in minimal classroom management issues.

Amy was a great addition to Senator Gershaw School. She positively influenced school culture
and I never witnessed a negative interaction with students, parents, or staff. Amy would be a
