By the completion of the course the students should be able to do the following:
1-Explain the origins and the distribution of both the conventional and renewable energy 2-Describe how secondary energy sources are generated by the primary energy sources
Learning sources. briefly.
Outcomes 3-Describe the current worlwide energy usage and projections made for the future. 4-Discuss each of the main renewable and conventional energy sources.

5-Explain the impact of the energy systems on the environment. 6-Discuss technical literature on sustainable energy systems.

The aim of this course is to provide a comprehensive picture of the conventional and renewable energy systems. This course provides an introduction to
engineering principles and designs for the key sustainable/renewable and conventional energy technologies. This course is structured to familiarize students with
Course
the wide range of information on sustainable energy technologies and environmental impact of energy systems. This course starts with the conventional energy
Objectives resources such as coal, natural gas, petroleum and nuclear energy and is followed by mainstream renewable energy sources such as wind and solar energy. The
current status of the sources systems as well as the outlook to the near future with scientific projections take significant part in the course.
