PSYCHO-SOCIAL READINESS (Bahay-Bahayan)

1. Did the author make the right decision? On which part of the article do you base your
answer?

Yes, the author stated on paragraph 7 that “I still have my youth to enjoy and
myself to please, and I can’t see how I can manage this with the baby a young
wife to support. Hey, I can’t be forever young, so I might as well enjoy it while it
lasts.” The author stated also on the paragraph 9 that before we enter to world of
marriage and become a parent, we should be prepare emotionally, physically and
financially so that we can give our own family a better life.

2. What qualities of a mature person does the author show he possesses?

The author possesses the quality of being goal-oriented and patient person. He
will make sure that he is ready to all responsibilities regarding of being married
and a parent and also he enjoy first his youth before it last.

3. Have you had any encounter with incidents similar to those of the author? Give a
personal reaction to your observations in relation to getting married and having a family.

I’ve encounter similar to the author story, some of my acquaintance are already
had a family and married in young age, some of them had experience difficulty
about providing financial support to their family. Getting married and having a
family in young age is not bad as long as you can provide all the needs of your
own family, financially and physically. But before we enter to this kind of
situation, we should be ready to take all the responsibilities as parent and partner.
