Development Center for Basic Abilities and

Social Educational Inclusion

What is CRECES?
CRECES is a center for the development of basic
abilities for the integral development of children,
adolescents and adults with functional diversity,
learning disabilities and other circumstances that
have caused their socio-educational exclusion,
seen in the form of undocumented immigration to
the United States, cognitive or functional diversity
and generational poverty.
Why we exist?
This initiative arises out of the need to include the people
that have been left out of the traditional educational
system, be it because the general methodology
applied in the classrooms has failed to accommodate
certain circumstances or because these same
circumstances have prevented people from
completing a high school level education.

We also look to provide support for parents that find

themselves hindered by these same circumstances
due to the lack of support and education surrounding
cognitive or functional diversity, or because they are
returning immigrants that need to reintegrate into
Honduran society.
Our center for informal education
foments the integral development of
each individual student to ensure we
have a permanent impact on their
development that allows them future
opportunities for growth disregarding
any physical or economic factors.
Welcome to
How does it work?
Before being admitted to Creces, we
applya series of tests to create a
positive profile, taking into account the
cause of remission. Based on our
evaluation we will elaborate a report
with the positive profile and possible
diagnostic for each individual child.

Finally, we will elaborate a plan for

each child’s curricular adaptation and
an individualized plan that will be
carried through one of our teachers
with year of experience in special
education.

Development of Basic
Abilities
Illiteracy
Illiteracy is one of the principal problems of our country, given
that almost 13% of Hondurans 15 years and older cannot read
nor write. Many times, illiteracy is not the decision of the
individual, rather it is the consequence of poverty and lack of
education opportunities.

The population affected by illiteracy will have individual and

group tutoring sessions with a personalized plan based on the
diagnostic presented by the teachers specialized in special
education that work with us.

All of our tutoring will be adapted for every age and

personalized depending on each individual’s need.
Development of Basic
Skills
Strengthen Reading and Writing

In CRECES we for to strengthen reading

comprehension and reading habits para, as well
as strengthening imagination and creativity
when writing. These abilities will be developed
through entertaining and tailored training
workshops that Dona un Libro has been
implementing the last few years with teachers
and students at the national level, alongside
members in Teleton.
Socio-educational Inclusion
Reintegration of returning immigrants and other
vulnerable groups in the school system

This component is based on our success with our initiative

Leer es Aprender, a series of original short stories and
workshops that take on subjects relating to social issues in
a simplified manner for children and their families,
including undocumented immigration. We have strategies
for socio-educational intervention that prepare and orient
our youth so that they can continue their schooling
trajectory. The idea is to give young people that have
abandoned the school system relevant solutions so they
can still have the opportunities they deserve.

Our tutoring sessions are personalized so that every

individual that shows an inferior curricular level to his/her
academic grade can be leveled accordingly. In this way,
we will work within different group workshops adapted for
other vulnerable groups that will help them reintegrate to
society.
Socio-educational
Inclusion
Educational work for people with
disabilities

CRECES is a center for the development of basic

abilities for the integral development of children,
adolescents and adults with functional diversity,
learning disabilities and other circumstances that have
caused their socio-educational exclusion. With years
of experience working in workshops with institutions
like Teleton, we have strengthened our programs and
have prepared individual and group workshops for
persons with disabilities.
Program for Corporations
We work with companies in the private sector
that wish to sponsor their employees and/or
their families with scholarships to tackle
illiteracy and to improve their writing and
reading abilities.
Scholarship Program
Our scholarship program is intended for migrants that have been returned
to their home country and need to be reintegrate in the educational
system for them to finish their basic studies. Each Corporation Program
package will include a number of scholarships for this purpose.
Additionally, we negotiate strategic alliances in order to maintain an
affordable program with an incredible reach.
Personalized Attention
It is important for our team to offer personalized attention
tailored for each person’s individual needs. Our process
has been designed to identify the different ways each
individual can learn, as well as preferences that have an
effect in our way of absorbing and processing information.

Our team of educators have years of experience in

special needs education, of which we input into our
strategy and activities.
How You Can Help?
In order to bring our vision to life, we look for the support of our
allies to subsidize the construction of our center, a space
designed to be inclusive with all the requirements needed to
service every single person that needs our help, disregarding
their ability to mobilize independently.

Please take a look at our annex which contains the relevant

budgeting details for this project.
Education is a
universal right, and
that right should not
be limited from
cognitive and
functional diversity
and/ or from
circumstance.
