~~Thirty- Ninth Meeting of ’20/’21
President Brian South rang the
Moraga Rotary bell to open the meeting
and today’s greeter, Mary Sue
Erickson, read a quote from Helen
Keller about doing the best you can
every day. She reminded us that being a
Rotarian is more than spending a few
hours a week at a meeting. She then led
us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Our guests today included today’s
speakers, Samantha Davis and Stef
Moore, and Larry Tessler, Peggy Hall,

~HOORAY for Moraga Rotary~
Ron Haas representing the Moraga
Chamber of Commerce along with
Chamber President, Brandy Ford,
announced that the Rotary Club of
Moraga was selected as the Moraga
Non Profit Organization of the Year.
Ron and Brandy commended the Club
for its contributions to the community
particularly in this year of the pandemic.
The Canyon Club Brewery was
selected as the Moraga Business of the
Year.
~~HAPPY BUCKS~~
Gary Irwin gave a High Five for our
club's recognition from the Chamber of
Commerce.
Evie Michon gave a High Five for our
club's and Canyon Club's awards and
for Brian's leadership.
Debbie Roessler had a Happy 5 for
Stef Curry's breaking the
Warrriosfranchise's career scoring
record.
Brian South had a High 5 for our club's
award from the Chamber.
Debbie Koo had a Happy 5 for our
speaker Steph Moore and for being able
to get out and about.
Frank May had a Happy 5 for his
granddaughter, Brittany, who was with
Linda and him and joining our meeting
call.
Barbara Bruner had a High 5 for the
birth of a great grandson and for the
Warriors recent success.
~ANNIVERSARIES & BIRTHDAYS~
Diane and Clyde Wilson celebrated
their 39th anniversary with a trip to
Virginia City.
John Erickson celebrated his 83rd
birthday with Mary Sue at their seaside
home in Mendocino County.
Jan Gregory celebrated her birthday
with a gourmet BBQ dinner prepared by
hubby Roger.

President Brian reminded us that we
have our final Dinner With Rotary on
Thursday, April 22nd. The website is up
with a link for reservations at:

Or there is a link on our Moraga Rotary
Club home page. Dinner pickup times
are 5, 5:30, 6 and 6:30 pm. The last day
to order is April 20. This is a delicious
lasagna dinner from La Finestra
Restaurant in Moraga.

Rotary District 5160 is having a Photo
Contest with winners being announced
at the District Conference April 30th
through May 2nd. The deadline for
entries is April 18th. For details, please
see flyer at the end of this newsletter.
Rich Render has the club lined up with
an eWaste event on Saturday, May 15th.
There will be more details as we get
closer to that date.
Herb Wehmeyer is seeking Greeters for
our zoom meetings in May. The dates
are wide open so please email Herb at
oherbw@att.net to sign up.
President Brian attended the Harvest
Family Farm open house in Pittsburg
last Saturday.
President Brian also announced that
he had sent a letter with two checks to
Moraga School Superintendent Bruce
Burns. One check was to complete the
camera systems at the three elementary
schools. The second check provided
funds for additional school safety kits.

Samantha Davis and Stef Moore. They • 5/11 – Open
have created Songrams which are video • 5/18 – Open
vocal cards which can be purchased on • 5/25 -- Open
their website and sent to friends and
family.
Proceeds from these sales benefit the
Rainforest Trust which purchases
rainforest lands throughout the world for
their preservation.
With singing telegrams not feasible
during the pandemic, songrams were
developed as an excellent substitute.
The group presented six songrams for
our entertainment and to introduce their
product. They were excellent,
professionally done videos.

~~ ENCORE GAME~~
Each week we end the meeting with this
game. The goal is to guess the suit of a
single ace drawn from four aces.
Today’s potential prize was $20. The
member drawn for a chance to win was
Barbara Bruner who guessed the Ace
of Hearts but the card drawn was Ace of
Clubs. Next week’s prize will be $30.
