World War 1

It is also reffered as the Great War. It commenced in 1914, preceding the Murder of

Austrian called Archduke Franz. This sparked a great war that involved the formation of

alliances and different countries, sidelining themselves on one another for their protection and

war. United States wanted not to sideline itself on any alliance during World War, it deemed

impossible. This meant that the United States had to raise its money and forces to wage war. The

picture below shows some American soldiers at war with their enemies; this shows their struggle

in the war which it was uneasy.

Kendrick Clements claimed the bureaucratic making of decisions was one of the primary

origins to push for the declaration of war by the United States to Germany and its allies. He

cited the demands for the state's departments that the submarines of Germany ought to obey the

outdated laws of sailing as one of the initial missteps by the bureaucracy of the United States

with regards to the war. By doing so, the United States had offered Germany a mandate to

involve themselves in war whether or not the United States would join the wear.

The sinking of American ships forced the United States to join the war. The merchant ships

which were five in number sunk in March, and it outraged the public idea, which

overwhelmingly aided Wilson as he questioned the congress on war declaration. The war was

controversial because the United States population consisted of individuals from different

countries, and it rose different opinions on which country to be sidelined with, which became a

big problem in the leaders making decisions on the war. The picture below shows the ship

sinking and it sets a memory for remembrance in the political history.

Wilson's main goals were for a peace

settlement for the end of the war since it

had prolonged and also to reform the

politics of the world through an international organization for peace-keeping to prevent future

occurrences of such wars. He was able to bring peace amongst the conflicting parties, which was

essential.

During the War, United States the social

status of people was affected since they lived in

fear of being attacked by enemies and being

stigmatized by people who are sent to war since

a lot of people were killed in battles. This affected much their way of life, considering that some

of the people sent to war were of great importance.

The First World War also affected the United States' political system since there were a lot

of arguments; concerning the countries to make alliances with and the countries, which needed to

be fought against. This led to the emergence of leaders from different states of which others

since other countries were adversely affected by war. This depicts the unity of the people in the

The 1920s

The 1920s represented an era of change when a lot of Americans owned telephones, radios

and vehicles for the first time. The vehicles brought about the necessity to construct the right

roads, and the radio brought the globe closer to home. Historians see the 20s as the beginning of

modern times because some transformations and changes were visible, and they positively

impacted the country's development. (Murphy). The way of life of the people was improved by

concentration on modern technology, which was of great importance to the country.

The introduction of cars brought about an urge to construct the right roads in the country,

which eased the transportation of essential goods from one place to another. This promoted trade

amongst people since many people could find it easy to meet their targeted consumers of the

products they produced. This shows advancement in the technology that occurred.

At the beginning of the 1920s, the American troops who were still at war were returning

from European countries after the First World War, where they came to their families, jobs, and

acquaintances. Majority of the soldiers had never visited their homes before the war, and their

encounter had transformed their point of view of life surrounding them. The picture below shows

how the troops were welcomed back after end of the war.

Considering the political factors, the war transformation in the way of ruling and formation

of organizations aimed to promote peace and coexistence and seek solutions for the conflicts

taking place for an extended period. This was essential because leaders from different parts of

the world had to come together to sign peace treaties to prevent the occurrence of the same war

in the future, hence benefitting them and the United States.
