‘Where there is a will, there is a way' and our young

students should focus on the hard work to achieve the
desired results rather than finding the shortcuts for
success.

This year GTU celebrated 10th Annual Convocation at

Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar on the theme of
'Aatma-Nirbhar Bharat'. Padma Vibhushan Dr. K.
Kasturirangan was the special guest who joined the
grand event virtually. Shri Acharya Devvrat, Hon'ble
Governor of Gujarat & Chancellor, GTU; Shri Vijay
Rupani, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Government of Gujarat
and Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Hon'ble Education Minister, Government of Gujarat motivated the students
with their esteemed presence and thoughtful addresses.

GTU signed MoU with Shree Somnath Sanskrit University, Junagadh Municipal Corporation, National Federation of
Tourism Hospitality & Transport Cooperatives (NFTC), Textile Association and Missar Systems to extend the fruitful
research and academic excellence.

Republic day was celebrated with full enthusiasm at Gujarat Power Engineering and Research Institute (GPERI)
which is a constituent college of GTU. In a significant global connect, 12 speakers from 10 different countries
contributed meaningfully in Global Symposia on Vision-2030 and discussed various strategies for higher education.
Apart from this, various events like FDP, webinar, expert talk, student start-up training programme, workshop,
placement camp and International Women's day celebration were also organized.

They offer 1600 different French language programs to foreign students who apply for further studies in France. In

Global Symposia-VISION 2030 on 24.02.2021

Global Symposia was organized on 24 February 2021 at GTU through online
mode. There were 12 speakers from 10 different countries who had joined
the Global Symposia on Vision-2030. The major discussion was on learning
from pandemic situation and Strategies for Higher Education in Next
decade.

Virtual Session with Overseas Employment and Career Information Centre,

Ahmedabad in collaboration with Indo-American Education Society and
GTU for opportunities for study in USA on 26.02.2021

The virtual session was hosted by Overseas Employment and

Career Information Centre, Ahmedabad along with IAES,
Education USA. More than 1200 students were registered for
the session. Furthermore, the discussion was on
opportunities for studying in USA and how they help and
familiarize updated and authentic information about the
process of applying for higher education in the United States.

Webinar on 'Role of a teacher in implementation of

National Education Policy-2020' on 19.02.2021

Internal Quality Assurance Cell
organized a webinar on “Role of a
Teacher in Implementation of
NEP-2020”.
The webinar was jointly organized
with NITI Aayog and Bharatiya
Shikshan Mandal for all the
education institutes of Gujarat on
19th February, 2021 through online
mode. More than 1100 participants
registered for the webinar from all
the districts of the Gujarat.

Organising Secretary, Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal was the key note speaker of the webinar. He tried to resolve all the
myths and rumours of NEP-2020. Prof. (Dr.) Navin Sheth, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of GTU addressed the participants
and said that GTU has started working on the effective implementation of NEP-2020. He also announced that GTU
will try to start technical education in regional language from next academic year.

The webinar had three sessions - Inaugural session, Breakout session and Valedictory session. In second
session, all institutes of Gujarat were invited to provide their suggestions on role of teachers. All the participants
actively took part in the breakout session. Many problems and their fruitful solutions were discussed in this session.
The session was ended with vote of thanks by Dr. S. D. Panchal, Head-IQAC, GTU. The coordination of the webinar
was successfully done by Dr. Kaushal Bhatt, Coordinator-IQAC.
AICTE -GTU Joint FDP on 'NBA Accreditation for Management Institutions'

Graduate School of Management Studies organized an online FDP on “NBA Accreditation for Management

The Business School, University of Jammu) was the Chief Guest for the Inaugural Ceremony of the event. It was a
one-week FDP wherein 100 plus faculties of Management institutions affiliated with GTU participated to understand
the process of securing NBA Accreditation thoroughly.

Chetan Singh Solanki (Professor

person in it. He is Founder of
Energy Swaraj Foundation and
has been referred to as “Solar
Man of India” by Times of India,
The Hindu and India Today. Some
people also call him “Solar
Gandhi” for his remarkable work
in the field of Solar. He is an
educator, innovator, researcher,
entrepreneur, and author. Prof.

International Women's Day Celebration on 'Women Entrepreneurs:

Contributors of Aatma-nirbhar Bharat' on 08.03.2021
Vidhushee Gargi Centre for women development in
association with Stree Chetna (Gujarat) affiliated to
Bhartiya Stree Shakti under the guidance of Dr. Ushma
Anerao, Chairperson and with the supportive efforts of
committee members of Women Development
Committee celebrated International Women's day on
8th March 2021 at GTU Chandkheda Campus. Dr. Rajika
Kacheria, a social reformer, founder of India Promise,
Cosmetologist, Wellness Consultant was the chief guest
of the programme.

A video competition on 'Mujhe Kuchh Kehna hai' was

organized for the GTU affiliated college female students
on theme of Gender discrimination, Mental and Physical Health, Education and the different experiences during
Covid19 lockdown period. In this competition, GTU received videos from 185 students.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony was held during the event. Best 3 videos were awarded 1st, 2nd & 3rd prize. Other 7
students were awarded with consolation prizes.

Health Check-up Camp on 16.03.2021

Gujarat Technological University organized 'Health Check-up Camp – 2021' on 16th March 2021. More than 100 staff
members, family members and faculties came for health check-up. Doctors gave them medicines according to their
problems. People enthusiastically participated in this health check-up camp.
Placement Camp - 2021 on 18.03.2021
Placement was organized by the Education Department,
Government of Gujarat on 18th March, 2021. Shri G. T. Pandya
sir, Director of Technical Education, Government of Gujarat
was present as a Chief Guest. The Placement camp 2021 was
held on Gujarat Technological University, Chandkheda
campus. It was organized for students of Engineering,
Commerce, Arts and Science streams. Approx. 1000
students were registered to take part in placement camp at
GTU. Total 600 students visited for placement camp.
Integrated Training and Placement Cell (ITAP) coordinated
the programme at university.
