Sample LOR for MS from Professor

To whom it may concern,
It is my immense pleasure to support XYZ’s candidature to your institution for
Master’s in Computer Science program. Currently, I hold the designation of
Deputy Head at the Department of Information & Communication Technology in
ABC Institute. Even though it has been more than 3 years since I taught and guided
XYZ, I still clearly remember him for his innovative ideas which he showcased as
a student.
I met XYZ when he enrolled for Network Technologies elective during his 6th
semester of his undergraduate studies. Though the course was for 6 months, we
interacted several times outside the classroom. He also reached out to me post his
graduation for professional guidance. He was not only a competitive student but
also showed impressive grasp of technical concepts.
I recall that XYZ was a step ahead than most of his peers when it came to
experimenting with his learnings. In the 7th semester he implemented his
knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, wireless networks, etc. which he acquired during
Network Technologies course to develop a couple of software applications. In one
application, which was an Android Chess game, he made a multiplayer application
where two users could connect their phone wirelessly and play the game in real
time. In the other application, he developed a chat module using TCP/IP in which
user could chat with the admins of the app. He would often come to me for
guidance during the development of these applications. I felt proud as a teacher to
see my student practically implementing his classroom learnings.
XYZ was well recognized among the juniors. He actively guided them in their
studies or projects whenever they approached him. He was always calm and
composed, so the juniors always loved to interact with him. I was also impressed
with his time management skills. He would always be on time for his classes and
never failed to meet any deadlines. Despite having multiple assignments to
complete in a semester, he would neither delay the submissions nor ask for extra
time.
Besides the course work, he attended workshops and participated in technical
events. His love for Android programming even won him an award in one of the
hackathon contests organized by the Computer Science Club, IECSE of our college
in 2017. He was also a member of the Lions Club of the college and actively
participated in various social causes.
It does not come to me as a surprise that even after 3 years of professional work
experience, he is still eager to pursue Master’s in Computer Science. I strongly
recommend XYZ for his graduate studies in your institution. His keen desire to
explore and learn will take him far ahead in life. I wish XYZ all the best for his
graduate studies. Please feel free to contact me in case you have any queries on this
recommendation.

Asif is a sharp and quick individual with a strong aptitude for mechanical engineering and robotics.
He is driven to understand and interpret how things work and continuously strives to create
something new. This is especially evident in his research project where he designed a gesture based
robot, an idea that was sparked by wanting to reduce household chores. He is a strong leader in
Robotics club and eagerly shares his knowledge with others and picks up new skills. Students in the
club prepare lessons and present them before the class. Asif prepared a fascinating presentation on
robotics and artificial intelligence and included fun activities in his lecture that got everyone talking.

In addition to Asif's intellectual accomplishments, he has an active and outgoing presence in class
with strong leadership skills. This was specially demonstrated when he took the challenge to
organize the first seminar by the Robotics club. He worked along with his club members and his
cheerful nature helped him get along with everyone and organize the seminar successfully.

Asif has my strong recommendation for your college. He has demonstrated excellence in everything
he puts his mind to. I am sure he will do great things. If you have any questions please feel free to
contact me at xzyPqmail.com.

Sincerely, Prof. ABC Department of Mechanical Engineering Institute of Engineering

LOR

I am writing this letter in support of Ms. Mukta Sharma, who was a student of Electronics
Engineering at our college. I have known Mukta for two years and found her to be an aspiring
and sincere student. I had many opportunities to observe her at close quarters as I was her
instructor for the courses Computer Networks and Digital Signal Processing. I would like to
elucidate few facts about her that impressed me the most.
She has good logical reasoning ability and always tries to solve problems efficiently.
She is emotionally matured, confident and good-natured. She regularly discussed with her
fellow students about the research topics and brought in new ideas and suggested better
methods of learning. Ms.Mukta’s deep understanding of the subject, as well as her quest for
knowledge constantly impressed me. Her punctuality and hard working nature, keep her well
ahead of her peers. She also maintains a good rapport with her peers.
Her strong points also include good communication skills. She was one of the
organizers for the event ‘Engineering Today--Project Making’, a national level project
making competition conducted by the Department. In my unbiased opinion she has a rich
blend of creativity, temperament and discipline required for a person who desires a career in
Network engineering. Ms.Mukta is completely loyal and trustworthy. With her diligent study
habits and steady application, she was a consistent performer in her class. Ms.Mukta will be
an apt student to undergo a graduate program.
Considering her interest in pursuing higher studies and her scholastic promise for
research oriented study, I strongly recommend her candidature for admission at your
institution for masters program with substantial financial aid. I am confident that she would
prove to be an asset to your institution.
