Course Description
This course deals with the practices and techniques of graphical communication; application of drafting instruments, lettering scale, and units
of measure; descriptive geometry; orthographic projections; auxiliary views; dimensioning; sectional views; pictorial drawings; requirements of
engineering working drawings and assembly and exploded detailed drawings. It is also designed to develop abilities needed to develop,
accurately locate and interpret dimensions on and read engineering drawings.
Course Learning Outcome
At the end of the course, the students should be able to:

Knowledge
1. Understand the concept of drafting.
2. Be familiar with engineering drawings.
3. Recognize the types of engineering drawings.
4. Properly utilize the scale within a given drawing.
5. Locate and recognize the revision of a given print.
6. Recognize which type of view, or views appear on a drawing.
7. Identify the types of lines that appear on a drawing.
8. Understand dimensions and their respective tolerances.
Skills
1. Use basic drafting instruments properly.
2. Apply the basic concepts of technical drawing and sketching.
3. Prepare technical drawings.

1. Appreciate the importance of engineering drawings in the field of engineering.
