NAME: BERNARDINO, Erika O. –MODULE 6 EVALUATE 3– 5026 – 21JULY2020

In the nursing profession, how can you contribute in promoting sustainable development? Discuss at least 3 practices.

SDG 1: Poverty and poor health worldwide are inextricably linked. The causes of poor health for millions globally are rooted in
political, social and economic injustices. Poverty is both a cause and a consequence of poor health. Poverty increases the chances of
poor health. Poor health, in turn, traps communities in poverty. Infectious and neglected tropical diseases kill and weaken millions of
the poorest and most vulnerable people each year. To address poor health, we have to promote proper nutrition to families in the
community, we have to make sure that they have access in good health care facilities by reaching out through rural and far-flung areas,
and lastly, by providing free treatments to all sick people and ones who needs attending.

SDG 2: Most deaths of children and infants in the world are caused by hunger and malnutrition. Almost half of the world is still
hungry and thriving. To end this, we have to properly allocate our resources and learn to give. As a healthcare provider what I can do
to stop hunger s to educate mothers and other heads of the family regarding proper nutrition to improve their family’s health especially
their children. We can teach them how to prepare and what food to prepare for their families, how to breastfeed and importance of
breastfeeding for the infant, and lastly, proper food and diet for adults with or without any medical conditions.

SDG 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all ages, and clearly nursing has a major role to play in relation to SDG 3. We
nurse are responsible in ensuring the health of the people around us focusing not only on the physical aspect but as a whole,
holistically. We can do this in a lot of platforms through the different roles of a nurse; we can teach them regarding their health, cure,
prevent diseases, and uplift quality of life. This is a duty and not just a job, we work to serve and protect human health.
